Recently,picture books have drawn growing attention because of its way of representing knowledge which appeals to children’s cognitive stages and learning mentality.In China,math teachers have gradually begun to use math picture books in their teaching hoping to attract students’ interests in math and get better effects.However,in fact,the result is far from the expected goals.At the present time,the researches on the influence of the math picture books focus mostly on the value of the mathematics picture books,the common problems and general strategies when they are applied in teaching.Aiming at solving the lack of study sample about the concrete means elementary school teacher can use and problems that teachers may encounter,I will do further research on specific application of picture books on the basis of relevant theoretical research.Firstly,this article begins with the study of concept of the children picture books and primary grades by literature research.And then expounds Piaget’s cognitive psychological structure and intuitive teaching theory.A questionnaire is designed to analyze the status where math picture books are applied to the teaching math,which includes teachers’ understanding,study,and application about the cartoon books.So I can conclude some problems,such as the lack of teaching theory with math picture books,innovation and teaching ability.The reason why I analyze these problems is that teachers don’t have a good understanding about picture books and they lack experiences and deep research.Thus,I propose the following strategy.Math teachers should have a good understanding about picture books.And they should give play to the characteristics of it.In math class,teachers should consider the characteristics of the students.Finally,I propose the basic requirements and principles about applying children picture books to teaching.The "knowledge of clocks" and "nine plus a few" are taken as examples to analyse.The research in this article offers some strategies for primary school teachers to use picture books.It also has some functions to upgrade their teaching capability.
