Performance And Anxiety:A Media Perspective Study Of College Students’ Neijuan Action

As China’s higher education enters the mass era,the number of students enrolled in higher education continues to increase,and various resources show a trend of reduction.In this context,college students’ "introversion" has become a hot social phenomenon in recent years,and related topics such as insurance,research,and employment also have a high degree of discussion.Therefore,it is important to systematically explore the various factors that affect college students’ neijuan to understand their current living conditions and mental health.Based on this,this study will focus on the impact mechanism of college students’ introversion actions.Since most of the existing studies have analyzed neijuan as a single communication phenomenon,and lack of research on it as a research object,this study will focus on discussing the impact of media systems,especially social media,on introversion actions.This study conducted semi structured interviews with a total of 20 undergraduate and graduate students,forming initial interview data of over 70000 words.After conducting a thematic analysis of first-hand data,this study combed different types of college students’ groups in the process of introversion,and sorted out various factors and influencing mechanisms that affect college students’ introversion.Research has found that limited resources and a single evaluation system,as external environmental factors,affect individuals’ attitudes towards introversion,and media systems play an important role in promoting individual communication of anxiety and taking introversion actions among college students.Social media enables individuals to form information communities,emotional communities,and relationship communities,which affect individuals’ introversion actions.In addition,this study explored the behavioral motivations of non-neijuan college students,and divided them into regretful,lying down,and rebellious according to their motivations.To some extent,regretful individuals and lying down individuals still retain their recognition of involution actions.The former regrets because they have lost their competitive qualification,while the latter views lying down as an alternative channel for obtaining resources for involution;The resisters completely disagree with the logic behind the inner scroll and have a strong sense of resistance.Finally,this study explores the generation logic,impact,and how individuals face internalization through discussions such as performance society and burnout society.The research has found that neijuan is a process in which individuals are helpless to continuously create performance in response to anxiety,which not only brings dual physical and psychological fatigue to individuals,but also dissolves the meaning of life and promotes individual alienation.Faced with introversion,it is necessary to break the logical superstition of single value control,listen to the inner voice,and resonate with the world.
