Abstract/Summary:
Praise as an educational means and behavior management method has been widely used by preschool teachers in educational practice.Existing studies on preschool teacher praise mostly focus on the perspective of teachers,including the types,strategies,existing problems and solutions of kindergarten teacher praise,and less attention is paid from the perspective of children.This study tries to explore teacher praise from the perspective of children,and on this basis,from the perspective of professional ethics of preschool teachers,put forward some practical suggestions for kindergarten teachers to praise more reasonably.From the perspective of children,this study studies the teacher praise in the eyes of 5-6 children.In order to understand teacher praise in the eyes of children,the research tool "Teacher Praise in the eyes of 5-6 year old children" is compiled based on the existing relevant studies.The research mainly obtains the relevant information about teacher praise from the following three dimensions: children’s understanding of teacher praise;Children’s feelings of teacher praise;Children’s expectations of teachers’ praise to obtain the relevant information of teachers’ praise in children’s eyes.From the perspective of children,this paper adopts Mosaic method,including personal interview method,children’s conference method and painting analysis method,to study 105 children,so as to explore children’s awareness,feelings and expectations of teachers’ praise.Through data collection and analysis,the conclusions of this paper are as follows: 1.Teachers’ praise in children’s eyes has certain commonalities on the basis of individuality;2.2.There is a large gap between children’s expected praise from teachers and the actual praise from teachers;3.The ethics of teacher praise in children’s eyes need to be improved.Among them,in the recognition dimension of praise,children generally think praise is good performance;Praise includes both verbal and nonverbal forms;The main reason for praise is to show some kind of routine behavior.In terms of the perception of praise,children generally have positive feelings towards teacher praise,and the intensity of feeling towards verbal and non-verbal praise is greater than that of pure verbal praise.In the dimension of expectation for praise,children generally expect teachers to praise frequently and timely;Teachers are expected to use specific language accompanied by abundant non-verbal praise;Expect teachers to praise more comprehensive content;Expect teachers to hold positive emotion to praise;Expect teachers to be able to praise openly or individually according to their own needs;It is expected that teachers’ praise can reflect care,respect,justice and attention to their own efforts and progress.Based on the above research results,this study analyzes the characteristics,problems and reasons of teacher praise in children’s eyes.The results show that the teachers’ praise orientation in children’s eyes is biased;Praise pattern;Praise inefficiencies.Based on this,this paper puts forward the following suggestions to improve the praise of preschool teachers: 1.Consolidate the theoretical foundation: learn relevant knowledge and scientifically lead the praise practice.Specifically,it includes setting up scientific view of children and education;Strengthen the study of professional ethics of preschool teachers;Strengthen the study of subject professional knowledge;Strengthen the knowledge of evaluation and understanding.2.Stand firm with children: Listen to children’s voices and move towards children’s expectations.This includes developing the habit of praise;Timely praise;Comprehensive use of a variety of ways to praise;Praise should be comprehensive and targeted;Praise should be accompanied by positive emotions such as smile and happiness;Decide on occasions for praise based on a full understanding of the children in your class.3.Pay attention to the integration of knowledge and action: strengthen practical reflection and improve practical ability of praise.Specifically,we should pay attention to the value of reflection and constantly practice the ways and methods of reflection.4.Adhere to ethical orientation: improve professional ethics and become an ethical teacher.Specifically,praise should do care for children,help children understand praise correctly,pay attention to and properly deal with children’s negative emotions;Praise should respect children,respect children’s personality,individual differences and children’s views and participation;Praise to do justice to every child;Praise focuses on and supports young children’s development.
