| The first step in building the country is to strengthen our teachers.High-quality teachers are the fundamental safeguard and backbone of high quality education’s development.The question of how to cultivate a high quality professional and innovative teaching force has become a focal point of concern for all sectors of society.It is in this context that the Residency Pathways has become the new coordinator of China’s teacher education reform.In kindergarten,the residential teacher has the dual identity of a kindergarten teacher and a graduate student.In order to improve the quality of graduate training and build a team of reflective teachers,it is essential to develop the scientific research capacity of residency teachers.In this study,author focuses on the residency model of Z Normal University.This study investigates the level of scientific research capacity and the influence mechanism of residency teachers,with the aim of providing a reference and benchmark for the optimization of graduate education and culture.Ninety preservice teachers from Z Normal University participated in this study.For the survey,author compiled a questionnaire named "Research Ability Questionnaire of Resident Teachers" based on the available literature and preliminary interviews,which included research capacity,postgraduate tutors,kindergarten support,and personal factors.Author would like to learn about the current level of research capacity and the mechanism of influence on residency teachers’ research capacity.SPSS 20.0 and AMOS26.0 software were used to conduct descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis and structural equation modelling on the data from the questionnaires,in order to validate the proposed research hypotheses,and in order to discuss the results of the empirical analysis results.The results of the present study are: 1.Residency teachers have a medium level of scientific research capacity,and idea generation ability is relatively high among scores on four dimensions of science research capacity.2.Tutor,individual,and kindergarten factors have different degrees of influence on residency teachers’ ability to conduct scientific research.3.Personal interest in scientific research mediates the influence of independent tutor support,kindergarten supportive atmosphere and scientific research ability respectively;Individual learning goal orientation mediates the influence of tutor independent support,kindergarten supportive atmosphere and scientific research ability,respectively.It can be seen,therefore,that this study confirms to some extent that the resident model of Z Normal University has some degree of optimising effect on the reform and training of postgraduate vocational education,which is worthy of reflection and promotion in university education.At the same time,depending on the mechanism of influence of individuals,tutors,and kindergartens on the scientific research capacity of residency teachers,this study advances pedagogical suggestions for improving graduate students’ scientific research capacity and cultivating reflective teachers. |
