Research background:With the economic development of our country and the continuous improvement of people’s quality of life, more and more rich diets have not only satisfied the growth and development of children, but also brought some impact on the health of children. The obesity and myopia rates of primary school students are increasing year by year, and gradually tend to be younger.Latin dance is a kind of sports dance. It is a kind of art sport that combines strength and beauty with great skill. It has certain requirements on the body shape, body function, body function and physical quality of participants.By participating in this sport, children can be promoted to grow and develop and strengthen their physical quality.Research purpose:The purpose of this paper is to clarify the relationship between the physical quality of primary school students and the development of Latin dance programs.Through the intervention of Latin dance curriculum teaching for primary school students, the relationship between the physical quality changes of primary school students in three stages and the Latin dance curriculum is studied,so as to find out the different effects of Latin dance curriculum teaching on the physical quality of primary school students, and provide theoretical basis for enriching the physical education curriculum of primary school students,Then improve the physique of children in primary school and eliminate the negative trend of decline year by year.Research methods:In order to better achieve the research purpose, the author mainly adopted research methods such as questionnaire survey, literature review, experimental testing, and mathematical statistics for this article.90 students from Yueliangdao Nancun Primary School in Wangcheng District,Changsha City were selected as the experimental subjects, including 45 students in the experimental group and 45 students in the control group. Each group included students of three levels.Latin dance teaching was conducted for 16 weeks, with a curriculum density of three classes per week,It is conducted in the form of extracurricular interest classes, with each class lasting approximately 90 minutes. Before and after the intervention, the experimental group and the control group were tested on the same six physical qualities: strength, speed, endurance, agility, balance, and flexibility. The main test indicators were sit-ups,rope skipping, vertical forks, quadrant jumps, closed eye single leg standing, and 50 meter sprints. Finally, through the collation, statistics, and analysis of data, the promotion effect and extent of Latin dance teaching on the physical qualities of primary school students were explored,To achieve the purpose of this study.Research results:In order to achieve the goal of the research, and in accordance with the requirements of the research method, after 16 weeks of intervention in Latin dance teaching, the experimental group was analyzed as follows:(1)After receiving the 16-week Latin dance course, the students in the first stage of primary school level have improved their performance of the vertical fork and quadrant jump in the physical fitness test, and the P value is less than 0.01(P<0.01).However,the performance of the 50-meter sprint has no significant change(P>0.05).(2)After receiving the 16-week Latin dance course, the students in the second stage of primary school level have improved their scores of vertical fork,single-leg standing with eyes closed and rope skipping in the physical fitness test, and the P value is less than 0.01(P<0.01).Among them, the scores of the 50-meter sprint have also improved(P<0.05),but the results of the sit-ups in the physical fitness test have no significant change(P>0.05).(3)After receiving the 16-week Latin dance course, the students in the third stage of primary school level have improved their performance in the vertical fork and singleleg standing with eyes closed(P<0.05)in the physical fitness test, and the performance in the quadrant jump has improved with a P value less than 0.01(P<0.01),but their performance in the rope skipping and the 50-meter sprint sit-ups in the physical fitness test has not changed significantly(P>0.05).Research conclusion:(1)Teaching Latin dance courses to primary school level 1 students can effectively improve their flexibility and agility, but the improvement effect on their strength, speed, endurance, and balance quality is relatively limited.(2)Teaching Latin dance courses to students at the second stage of primary school level can improve their physical qualities such as endurance, balance, flexibility, and speed, but the improvement effect on their strength and agility is relatively limited.(3)Teaching Latin dance courses to students at the third stage of primary school level can improve their physical qualities such as sensitivity, balance, and flexibility, but the improvement effect on their strength, speed, and endurance is relatively limited.(4)The effect of Latin dance teaching in primary schools on improving students’ strength and quality is relatively limited, and it is relatively limited at almost every level.(5)Latin dance courses are more suitable to be carried out at the primary school level and can better play their role in promoting physical fitness. However,it is necessary to fully integrate the physiological characteristics of students of all ages into the curriculum design.
