Mathematical core literacy plays an important role in the teaching process,and mathematical abstract literacy is the most important.The junior high school stage is a stage of rapid development of students’ thinking and cognitive level,and abstract thinking is also gradually emerging.The teaching of functions in junior high school plays an important role in the cultivation of abstract literacy,but students encounter many difficulties in learning functions.Therefore,this article takes the teaching of functions in junior high school as a carrier and conducts research on the teaching of functions in junior high school from the perspective of mathematical abstract literacy.On the basis of literature analysis,this thesis understands the current situation and existing problems of cultivating junior high school students’ mathematical abstract literacy in function teaching through questionnaires,teacher interviews and other forms.The problems are mainly divided into the following four(1)it is difficult for students to understand and absorb the abstract concept of function in a short time;(2)Students can’t abstract function problems and models from slightly complex concrete situations;(3)Students cannot abstract the specific function situation to the general situation;(4)Students can’t integrate knowledge and build functional knowledge system.Based on the problems and current situation,as well as a series of literature review and exploration,this article proposes the following functional teaching strategies for cultivating students’ mathematical abstract literacy:(1)Teachers should pay attention to the selection of intuitive materials when formulating curriculum content,create a situation that is highly relevant to reality,and construct functional knowledge;(2)In classroom teaching,teachers should skillfully set up question strings to enable students to understand the process of function generation and application,and cultivate their abstract literacy;(3)Infiltrate mathematical ideas in the classroom as much as possible to enable students to better understand the nature of functions and promote mathematical literacy to a higher level;(4)The curriculum should incorporate functional history culture and stimulate students’ interest in learning.Based on the above teaching strategies,the contents of "function" and "image and nature of quadratic function" in "Mathematics" of junior high school of Jiangsu Education Press were selected,analyzed,reshaped and integrated,and the teaching design was carried out.
