Teachers are the first resource for educational development,and teacher education is the "source power" of the entire teacher education system.The teacher education system has moved from a closed to an open,independent normal university towards a comprehensive development path,and comprehensive normal universities have gradually emerged a trend of "weakening the characteristics of teacher education".Local normal universities bear the heavy responsibility of cultivating specialized teachers.As teacher education moves towards openness,integration,diversification,and specialization,they have been facing challenges from all sides.In the new era,characteristics are both quality and advantage.The construction of teacher education characteristics in local normal universities is a powerful way for schools to overcome the tendency of homogenization,as well as its core competitiveness and vitality in the higher education ecosystem.In order to alleviate the problems of weakening the characteristics of normal universities and homogenizing teacher education,local normal universities can only seize the opportunity,seize the opportunity and achieve their historical mission in the teacher education system by sticking to the position of teacher education,refining their regional characteristics in the "normal" and "local" context,promoting quality improvement with characteristics,and condensing core competitiveness with characteristics.This study first clarifies the origin,significance,research status,ideas,and methods of teacher education at home and abroad.Secondly,clarify the connotation,constituent elements,and theoretical basis for the construction of teacher education characteristics,providing solid theoretical support for the investigation of the current situation of teacher education characteristics construction in X Normal University and the proposal of countermeasures for the construction of teacher education characteristics in local normal universities.This study takes X Normal University as a typical case,analyzes and analyzes the current situation of the construction of school teacher education characteristics through collecting and sorting out documents related to school teacher education,and summarizes the effectiveness of the construction of teacher education characteristics in X Normal University from four aspects: pre job training,post job training,educational research,and regional services.The study found that X Normal University has formed a teacher training feature characterized by "diversified training models,three-dimensional courses,and integrated practical teaching";The characteristics of teacher training characterized by "multi-dimensional co education,multi city/county co construction,and multi platform sharing";The characteristics of teacher education research characterized by "collaborative research,innovative theory,and education" and the regional service characteristics of "cultivation,training,and research" integration.Based on this,this study follows the principle of purposive sampling,focusing on selecting managers,professional leaders,and in-service teachers related to teacher education in X Normal University as the interviewees for in-depth interviews.Through sorting out the text materials obtained from the interviews,it analyzes and summarizes the problems and causes of the construction of teacher education characteristics in X Normal University.The study found that there are problems in schools such as insufficient integration of pre job and post job and undergraduate postgraduate education,insufficient advanced and rich post job education resources,the need to optimize the internal and external collaborative system of teacher education,the lack of overall promotion of academic research on teacher education,and the need to strengthen the construction of teacher teams.The above problems arise from the lack of timely follow-up of current supporting policies for teacher education in schools The integrated organizational structure of teacher education is not yet complete and the internal management system of teacher education is not yet sound.Based on the analysis and research of the current situation,problems,and causes of the construction of teacher education characteristics in X Normal University,this study proposes to strengthen policy,institutional,organizational,and funding guarantees to enhance the effectiveness of serving teacher education from the perspectives of condition guarantee,teacher training,discipline construction,scientific research,and social services;To improve the quality level of teacher education,we should improve the diversified teacher training model,strengthen the construction of teachers’ team,optimize the practical education system inside and outside the school,and improve the mechanism of post employment growth;To strengthen the construction of the subject group of teacher education,build an academic platform for teacher education,improve the academic research system of teacher education,and consolidate the academic character of teacher education;To promote in-depth integration between schools and regions,improve the teacher training system,integrate various scientific research forces to promote basic education reform,professional growth of teachers,and government educational decision-making,highlighting the regional service character of teacher education.Through the above countermeasures,it is expected to provide some experience and enlightenment for the establishment of teacher education characteristics in the same type and level of normal universities,and contribute a modest force to the establishment of teacher education characteristics in local normal universities.
