As an important and direct tool in geography teaching,geography textbooks pay more and more attention to the selection and application of images,and take them as the material to cultivate the core literacy of geography.As a means of understanding geography things in geography textbooks,geography image has the characteristics of vivid,concise,clear and reasonable.A good image should be self-evident,that is,only through the composition of the image can highlight the meaning of the image,with the ability of self-image.Under the background of "one standard and multiple copies",the images between different versions have their own characteristics.This article to the current implementation of the people’s education press(hereinafter referred to as the version),Hunan education press(hereinafter referred to as xiang edition),China map press(hereinafter referred to as the version),Shandong education press(hereinafter referred to as the lu edition),China map press and China map society jointly published(hereinafter referred to as Shanghai edition)in the first volume of high school geography compulsory sequence of the image as a research object,the number of the textbook images,type,image sequence,text,image description,image design a systematic comparative analysis.Based on the theory of educational psychology and the theory of communication science,this paper uses the case analysis method,comparative method and investigation method to conduct the comparative study of image self-illumination.There are two main contents in this paper: the comparison of image self-sufficiency in the fifth edition of the new high school geography textbook and the comparative revelation of image self-illumination in the fifth edition of the new geography textbook.The conclusions of this study are as following:In terms of the type and quantity of images,the image types are rich and the number is large.Photo(44%)> schematic diagram(23%)> group map(17%)> map(9%)> statistical map(6%)> cartoon(1%);image density is presented in Shanghai(1.98)> Lu Jiao Edition(1.83)> Human Education Edition(1.63)> Chinese Edition(1.53)> Hunan Edition(1.52);Human and Shandong editions focus on promoting traditional Chinese culture;the middle map values three elements and uses the hand-drawn diagram of students;the Xiangjiao Edition uses cartoon characters.Figure order expression is different.The Lu edition and the Shanghai edition include the graphic sequence;the human edition combines the graphic order flexibly in the text;and the five editions combine the images well in the activities.The picture question presents the comprehensive information.The human version,the Hunan version and the Shanghai edition attach importance to the type of the image in the image;the Shanghai version expresses the image shooting time;the human version and the Hunan version emphasize the image shooting location;the middle version is the only version that explains the group setting in the drawing topic.Image text description plays a complementary role with the text.All five textbooks use image text description from different angles;they attach great importance to marking the names of notes in the images;the text description of Shandong landscape is less than the other four editions;human edition,Xiangjiao edition and Chinese edition pay attention to the typesetting of image text description.From the perspective of image organization,the five editions of the textbook attach importance to the collocation of the same type of group drawings;the five editions of the textbook mainly present the form of the text before the image;the images in the "questions";the Shanghai edition mostly uses the diagram and maps,and the cartoon and drawing diagram in the "questions";the integration of the images with the text and the activities is better.From the perspective of the expression of the image,the gap between the five editions is relatively small,which provides a flexible space for the five editions of the textbook and clarity,the color matching of the images of the five editions is good.According to the comparison,the enlightenment for teaching and textbook writing is obtained.Enlightenment for teaching: teachers should improve their image teaching ability,that is,to guide learning and master methods;actively reflect and update;and actively exchange and share experience.Teachers should integrate versions and resources,that is,learn from each other and complement each other;make good use of resources and enrich the classroom.Enlightenment for the compilation of teaching materials: reasonable selection of geographical images,that is,to achieve novel data and comprehensive information;to highlight the subject position of students.Pay attention to the image elements,namely diverse image types,perfect map elements;pay attention to the image sequence presentation,strengthen the combination of graphics and text,concise description,image description and proper arrangement;improve the image quality.Whether on the whole,or for a particular problem,the five editions of geography textbooks show the characteristics of image compilation in their own textbooks,each has its own advantages.
