With the widespread application of artificial intelligence and related technologies,artificial intelligence is gradually presented in the form of "AI+X",profoundly changing many industries and fields,and promoting society towards the era of intelligence.A part of human civilization history is the history of mutual promotion between education and technology.In the field of education,artificial intelligence is highly valued,and the concept of intelligent education has emerged as an urgent need for education reform and development.Artificial intelligence brings opportunities and challenges to ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Therefore,to do a good job in ideological and political education in colleges and universities,it is necessary to grasp the situation,adhere to the right path,and explore the effective path of artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Empowering ideological and political education in universities with artificial intelligence is based on understanding the technology background,nature,and uses,with political,security,human-centered,and flexible requirements,aiming to enhance the pertinence of ideological and political education,increase the attractiveness of teaching content,promote the scientific evaluation of ideological and political education,and realize the intelligentization of ideological and political management in universities.However,the process of empowering ideological and political education in universities with artificial intelligence is also full of dilemmas and challenges.Currently,there are realities such as insufficient application of information technology,lack of intelligent teams and big data awareness,and the need to establish data working mechanisms.In addition,challenges may arise during the application of artificial intelligence to ideological and political education,including weakening the authority of the educators,technical dependence of the students,complex educational environments,and legal and ethical risks.In the face of dilemmas and challenges,firstly,it is necessary to establish an institutional regulatory assurance system for the application of artificial intelligence and create a smart campus environment.Secondly,to establish a working mechanism for empowering ideological and political education in universities with artificial intelligence,and promote the construction of talent cultivation mechanisms,big data working mechanisms,and information sharing mechanisms.Thirdly,to promote the transformation of ideological and political theory education and teaching in universities by using artificial intelligence,and advance educators’ comprehensive understanding of students,enrich teaching contents,reform ideological and political education teaching assessment models,and optimize course ideological and political construction.Finally,to optimize ideological and political management in universities with artificial intelligence,construct a data and information platform,and assist ideological and political education workers in daily management and psychological counseling.By doing so,the aim is to achieve intelligent,data-driven,collaborative,and precise transformation and development of ideological and political education in universities through empowering with artificial intelligence.
