The Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Students’ Homework and Off-school Training at the Stage of Compulsory Education released in 2021 pointed out that the teaching quality should be improved to reduce the students’ heavy homework burden,which requires students to fully and deeply understand mathematical knowledge.Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)point out the importance of understanding in mathematics learning.Decimal division is the key and difficult content of calculation teaching in the senior years of primary school.In the actual learning process,decimal division is a difficult point for teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.The actual learning effect of students is not consistent with the expected effect of teachers.Therefore,in order to improve students’ decimal division calculation ability,teachers must carefully and deeply analyze and evaluate the current level of decimal division calculation in primary school students,understand the types and causes of arithmetic errors,and propose targeted improvement measures.This study uses the test method and interview method to evaluate the current level of students’ decimal division calculation,and finds that students have problems in the accuracy and speed of calculation.Based on the above problems,41 students in Class 1,Grade 4 are taken as the object of research,and a two-rounds of action research is designed to improve students’ decimal division calculation ability.Through two rounds of action research,it is found that students’ understanding of the essence of decimal division is the key factor affecting students’ calculation ability.In addition,students’ flexible use of calculation methods and their grasp of calculation details also affect students’ calculation ability.Through two rounds of action research,it is concluded to strengthen the teaching of mathematical theory and clarify the nature of calculation;Strategies to enhance students’ ability to divide decimals,such as valuing the calculation process and exercising their computational perception,help teachers better grasp the learning situation,understand students’ difficulties in learning decimal division,and pertinently improve teaching methods and teaching strategies.In terms of students,it aims at help students better understand their shortcomings in decimal division calculation,help students find and correct errors in time,and improve their ability in decimal division calculation in continuous consolidation practice.
