Research On Empowerment In Female Network Collective Behavior

Although female groups have equal rights endowed by law,it is still difficult to enjoy substantial equality in real life.Female groups have gradually found that the fundamental way to get out of the dilemma of disempowerment is to enhance the right to speak through collective actions and empower the female community.The progress of information technology has given women a new opportunity of empowerment.The openness and communication of network social platforms have provided women with the discourse space for free expression and maximized the cohesion of group strength.Therefore,women regard social platforms as an important position to enhance the power of discourse on the Internet and an important field for empowerment.They carry out network collective behaviors with the help of microblog platform,and try to improve the power of discourse on the Internet through collective actions on the Internet,so as to participate in and influence the decision-making involving women’s interests,change the dilemma of women in reality,and realize the empowerment of women community.From the perspective of post-modern feminism,this study adopts the research method of network ethnography.Firstly,through semi-structured interview method,this study interviews online women to understand the situation of female empowerment in the real society,analyzes the advantages of online empowerment,and compares the environment of major social platforms.It explains the reasons why women shift their empowerment platform from offline to online and why they choose Weibo as the main empowerment platform.Secondly,focusing on several typical cases in microblog,this paper summarizes the generating factors and development process of female network collective behavior,and then evaluates and reflects on the empowerment effect of collective behavior.Finally,the paper discusses the problems in the process of women’s network empowerment based on the dilemma faced by women’s network collective behavior,and makes a deep analysis of the dilemma and the constraint mechanism of the dilemma from the perspectives of society,media and individuals.The study found that although women’s collective actions to enhance the power of discourse on the Internet to empower women have some effect,it is difficult to achieve female empowerment in the real sense.In the process of Internet empowerment,women are faced with such dilemmas as digital divide and information differentiation,stigmatization and generalization of women’s rights,and endogenous resistance in female group empowerment.The dilemmas are mainly caused by social constraints,disqualification and voice loss of media,irrational behaviors and psychological mechanisms of participating members and other factors.The existence of these dilemmas hinders the realization of the goal of female empowerment and causes the network women to fall into the illusion of empowerment.On this basis,this study discusses how to get out of the empowerment dilemma of online women groups,hoping to provide valuable reference for women groups to carry out online empowerment actions more effectively,rationally and legally in the future.
