| This thesis explores the process of establishing human-machine relationships among users of smart sports devices in the context of the communication science of humanmachine communication.First, through the literature and walkthrough method,we examine the macro market overview and micro design and user experience of smart sports devices, and find that the appearance and functional design of smart devices, which are popular, continue the tendency of human-machine communication to turn the linguistic style of machine information into personification, giving the machine a personality or anthropomorphic character in an attempt to eliminate the "other" perspective that users have when dealing with the machines and devices. The "other" perspective of the user’s approach to the machine and equipment. However, such cues from the designer’s or manufacturer’s perspective do not replace the user’s instrumental usage.A deep description of the actual use experiences of 17 users through semistructured interviews, coded on the basis of the grounded theory, shows the process of generation and fracture of the human-machine relationship of smart sports device users. In this process, the exploratory use of smart sports devices by their users begins with users’ irrational consumption decisions, and in the process of use, smart sports devices characterized by digitization and visualization reshape users’ exercise experience, the perception of experience is mediated, and the body is no longer the only criterion for judging and measuring the effect of exercise. In addition, the appropriation in domestication theory also appears in the process of using smart sports devices, which echoes the two different perspectives of the designers and users of smart sports devices. Finally, the visualization and social functions of smart sports devices also have different meanings for users, and the "visual" link presented in the process of social sharing and the "visual" link of the users themselves have different psychological choices for privacy protection and self-esteem satisfaction.Psychological choices. In the process of achieving exercise or health goals, users may interrupt the use of smart sports devices or try to seek expertise in order to get rid of the digital anxiety brought about by the feedback from the devices during exercise, and then focus and enjoy the exercise process more as the users improve their knowledge system and change their values. |
