| In this paper,the Unit Teaching Model based on the concept of In-depth Teaching(UTMDT)was proposed and implemented in a trial in the chemistry teaching process of a junior high school.With the proposal of the fundamental task of "strengthening moral education and cultivating people" of education in China,the development of students’ core qualities has become the focus of deepening curriculum reform.Under this background,the In-depth Teaching concept and Unit Teaching have attracted much attention.The concept of In-depth Teaching was put forward based on the nature of knowledge and the deficiency of shallow teaching.It focused more on the structure and understanding of knowledge.Unit Teaching breaks the limitation of fragmented teaching knowledge in class hours and pays more attention to the integrity and comprehensiveness of teaching.Firstly,this study collated and analyzed the domestic and foreign literature on In-depth Teaching and Unit Teaching.Secondly,on the basis of the research literature and the characteristics of junior high school chemistry discipline,junior high school chemistry UTMDT was proposed and implemented in a trial.This teaching mode was discussed from four aspects: characteristics,constituent elements,operation steps and precautions.In the process of discussion,some chemical knowledge was selected for illustration.Thirdly,the trial of the chemistry unit teaching was implemented in a junior high school in a county of Lanzhou City as the followings steps:(1)Determining the teaching content and integrating the unit knowledge structure;(2)Analyzing teaching elements;(3)Determining unit teaching objectives;(4)Designing Unit Teaching activities;(5)Evaluation and reflection.The teaching practice was carried out in the teaching process of Unit 8 Metals and Metal Minerals selected from the textbook published by the People’s Education Press.For evaluation and reflection,the students were given test papers and questionnaires,and then the collected data were analyzed using Excel software and SPSS.26 software.Through the foregoing evaluation and reflection,it was believed that UTMDT could improve the positive emotion of junior high school students in learning chemistry,effectively promote the development of students’ core literacy in chemistry,and improve students’ ability to build knowledge systems.However,due to the lack of time and my limited ability,the construction process and teaching process design of the teaching model mentioned in this paper was not suitable for all schools and regions,and more time and practical research was needed to further verify and improve the teaching model. |
