| As unit teaching becomes the direction of teaching for more and more front-line educators.The design of assignments based on the context of unit teaching is important for improving the current situation of assignments and achieving synergy with teaching and learning.This study provides a comprehensive study of the overall homework design of primary language units in the context of unit teaching.The thesis is divided into five parts: Part I,the background of the study;the literature research method is used to sort out the history of homework,homework design,unit teaching and overall unit work and to predict the development trend;Part II,the theories related to the design of overall unit work are clarified.The second part is to clarify the theories of holistic learning,constructivist theory and progression of learning theory as the main theoretical framework of this study.The principles of holistic assignment design are identified and the process of holistic assignment design is constructed.In the third part,the second unit of the second grade of the fifth grade of the primary school language textbook of the Unified Edition is used as an example for the design of the whole unit assignment.The case of the overall unit assignment design focuses on five parts of the assignment design: determination of assignment objectives,construction of assignment structure,variety of assignment types,integration of assignment content,and diversification of assignment assessment.The fourth part,the case implementation and effect analysis of the overall assignment design of the unit.Identify the purpose,target audience,methods and steps in the implementation process.The analysis of the student questionnaire data shows that the objectives of the overall unit assignment are consistent with the teaching objectives and that the structure of the assignment reflects the progression of knowledge.The overall unit work reflects the acquisition of learning methods and develops thinking skills.The better the students’ grades,the more effective they perceived the unit work to be.The assessment of homework showed significant differences between classes.A comparative analysis of score averages,using test scores,revealed that the overall unit work had a positive effect on academic performance.The teacher questionnaire showed that all six language teachers approved of the overall unit work.However,teachers generally wanted to have good examples of holistic unit work to use.It is concluded that the design of holistic unit work in primary language meets the current needs of unit teaching,helps to achieve optimisation of homework,and helps to achieve reduction in burden and increase in quality.In the fifth part,based on the theoretical basis and the implementation effect,we propose strategies for designing the overall unit assignments.Integrating the overall unit work with language elements;creating the overall unit work context with the unit theme;constructing the diversity of the overall unit work with students as the main body;reducing the difficulty of the overall unit work with the work scaffolding;coordinating the assessment of the overall unit work from multiple perspectives;setting up a homework teaching and research group to enhance the quality of the overall unit work;a total of six parts are elaborated. |
