The new curriculum reform in China since the beginning of the 21 st century has been affected by various theories,of which constructivism theory plays an important role.In this context,the principal status of students has been greatly improved.The curriculum puts students in the center from design to implementation,and also makes students play an active role as much as possible.Although the new curriculum reform has overcome many disadvantages in the past,there has been a phenomenon of taking one thing and losing the other.The promotion of student center and knowledge construction makes the value of the most basic elements of education,such as knowledge,teachers and subject curriculum,be degraded,and even regarded as the object of criticism,forgetting the basis of the existence of school,curriculum and education.Michael Young’s Powerful Knowledge is based on the reflection of this phenomenon.Therefore,this paper aims to analyze what kind of curriculum can break all kinds of contradictions,give consideration to both sides of contradictions,and then build a strong curriculum against the background of Powerful Knowledge.Specifically,this study discusses from the following aspects.Firstly,analyze the connotation of Powerful Knowledge,which is the basis and core of this paper.Based on the theory of Durkheim,Bernstein and Vygotsky’s discourse on knowledge,Michael Young’s Powerful Knowledge was proposed after experiencing a transition from new educational sociology to social realism.Powerful Knowledge is a generalized concept,therefore it is necessary to understand the discussion of the future curriculum and Knowledge of the Powerful.On the one hand,Powerful Knowledge is theoretical,systematic and specialized knowledge;on the other hand,Powerful Knowledge is the knowledge of what individuals can do,which goes beyond personal experience,provides a new way to understand the world,so that individuals can understand and explain phenomena,and enable individuals to participate in social issues debate.Secondly,speculation on the current curriculum.Taking the thought of Powerful Knowledge as the examination standard,it is found that the success of the curriculum objectives of our country lies in the determination and compliance with the trend of the development of core literacy.The limitation of the curriculum objectives is to weaken the objectivity of knowledge,show false sociality in the implementation process;In terms of curriculum content,the value of subject knowledge is unbalanced;In terms of discipline form,there is an extreme attitude towards discipline integration.Finally,the curriculum construction under the thought of Powerful Knowledge.The first two parts provide a theoretical and practical basis for curriculum construction under the thought of Powerful Knowledge.The construction of curriculum objectives should be based on objectivity and sociality,transcend personal experience,and enable individuals to form "powerful abilities" based on the acquisition of "powerful knowledge",while ensuring educational fairness;The selection of curriculum content should take academic groups and teachers as the main body,with science and humanities,knowledge and ability as the standard,and explore the organizational methods based on but not limited to disciplines;In the process of transferring curriculum knowledge,teachers are the leaders of knowledge transfer,the guides of learning methods,and the promoters of educational fairness.Therefore,teachers should deepen their grasp of Powerful Knowledge,improve their professional abilities,and update their thinking methods,thereby promoting the learning of students as the main body. |
