Layered homework design is a crucial starting point to reduce students’ learning burden and a natural requirement for cultivating core competencies under the new curriculum standards.It also should be pursued by teachers to help students in accordance of their aptitude and implement equity in basic education.However,the practical effect of layered homework design is often questioned because some details in its implementation are not handled properly.Therefore,we should pay more attention to figure out how well front-line teachers did with the implementation of layered homewok design,especially to figure out how to further improve the ability of layered assignment design of front-line teachers,carefully to study and answer questions such as “what causes teachers to be trapped by layered homework design?”.According to the principles and characteristics of layered homework design,this paper puts forward the optimization countermeasures of layered homework design,so as to reduce the burden of teachers and students.I use the literature research method to sort out and analyze the main research directions of layered homework design at home and abroad,and establish the theoretical basis of the paper: individualized teaching theory,the theory of multiple intelligences and“zone of proximal development”.Then,I investigate the status of the front-line teachers’ layered homework design implementation by Questionnaire survey and interview.I divide the investigation content into six dimensions: the basic situation of teachers,the concept of layered homework design,methods,evaluation,implementation effect and problems.Each dimension corresponds to the several questions,which finally constitutes the questionnaire and interview outline of the current situation of layered homework design in upper primary school.This paper mainly includes five parts: The first part introduces the research background,research purpose and significance,research status,research methods and so on.The second part,according to the six dimensions of the survey,describes the current implementation of the layered homework design.In the third part,I analyzes the existing problems and causes in the current implementation of layered homework operation:Teachers analyze the learning situation one-sidedly;their misunderstandings in the concept of layered homework;not paying enough attention to the impact of factors like time,difficulty and type of layered homework on homework burden;lack of pertinence in correcting layered homework;lack of school educational resources;overweight burden of teachers and anxiety of parents,etc.In that fourth part,I elaborate the principle of layered homework design,and propose the optimization measures for the design of layered homework according to the principle,characteristics,problems with implementations and their causes of layered homework design: Understanding students’ learning situation is the premise;how to design homework hierarchically and categorically is the key;teacher-student communication in layered homework evaluation is complementary;Reducing the burden on teachers,etc.The fifth part,carries on the summary to the paper:There are more problems than experience in the implementation of layered homework design in senior primary school.It needs further practice,research and reflection on how to optimize the layered homework design to teach students according to their aptitude and obtain more positive emotional experience.
