With the development of society,mathematics as a fundamental discipline is becoming increasingly important,as it is closely related to social progress and scientific and technological advancement.As a result,people are paying more and more attention to the cultivation of mathematics,the requirements for mathematical abstraction ability are increasing,and mathematical abstraction ability has become a fundamental skill required of all citizens.Abstraction is the most essential and fundamental characteristic of mathematical disciplines;through abstraction,we can acquire mathematical notions,mathematical models,and even higher mathematics.System,many great mathematical discoveries are inseparable from mathematical abstraction,such as the discovery of Cartesian coordinate systems and the Pythagorean theorem.Euler abstracted a drawing problem in order to solve the "Seven Bridges of K(?)nigsberg" problem.Mathematical abstraction is essential to mathematical activities and plays a crucial role in the construction,advancement,and application of mathematical knowledge.Primary school is the nascent stage for nurturing students’ abstract mathematical ability,and creating a solid foundation while pupils are first introduced to mathematical culture and cultivating students’ abstract thinking ability as early as feasible are crucial for future mathematical learning.Yet,the growth of mathematical abstraction ability does not occur overnight,and it is an issue worthy of discussion how to cultivate and increase the mathematical abstraction ability of elementary school kids.In this study,600 students were recruited at random from groups A,B,C,and D.As the survey object,the students primarily examined the development status of mathematical abstraction ability of upper primary school students and the factors influencing their mathematical abstraction ability using the SPSS software,and they discussed the relationship between mathematical abstraction ability and gender factors and grade factors in the upper primary grades.The results indicate that the general mastery of mathematical abstraction ability of children in upper primary school is average,which must be enhanced,and that the level of mathematical abstraction ability differs significantly between grades.In the two dimensions of number sense and symbolic awareness,the level of mathematical abstraction ability of girls was marginally superior to that of boys,whereas in the dimension of quantitative sense,the level of mathematical abstraction ability of boys was marginally superior to that of girls.The mathematical abstraction ability of upper primary school kids exhibited a pattern of accelerated development,and the higher the grade of the primary school pupils,the greater their mathematical abstraction ability..Based on the discussion and analysis of the research findings,this study advises enhancing the mathematical abstraction skills of elementary school pupils in four ways.Enhance teaching concepts,clarify pertinent mathematical abstraction concepts,and develop the training system;Encourage pupils more,promote cooperation and exchanges,and have them practise their mathematical expression skills.Enhance classroom content,boost classroom interest,and pique students’ enthusiasm in mathematics learning.Focus on post-class reflection,bolster post-class tasks,and enhance students’ overall application skills.
