Research On The Application Of Self-made Teaching Aids Based On The Cultivation Of Geospatial Thinking

Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous deepening of education and teaching reform and the further implementation of the college entrance examination evaluation system,geography education attaches more importance to the internalization of students’ core literacy and the improvement of their comprehensive strength,emphasizing the cultivation of students’ geographical spatial thinking.As a relatively common auxiliary tool in geography teaching,geography self-made teaching aids can intuitively present abstract geographical phenomena or geographical laws to students to the greatest extent,playing an important role in cultivating students’ geographical spatial thinking.Their advantages such as spatiality,targeting,and simplicity are gradually attracting the attention of educators.For this reason,this study has conducted a detailed analysis of the necessity,implementation steps,and evaluation criteria for the teaching of self-made teaching aids based on the cultivation of geospatial thinking,and formulated corresponding teaching strategies for the current problems in the teaching of self-made teaching aids,providing a theoretical basis for the selection of topics and case application of self-made teaching aids.In the process of practical research,in order to effectively improve the level of teachers’ selection of self-made teaching aids and optimization of teaching aids practical programs,the author designed and produced four teaching aids examples,and selected one of them to be applied to geography classroom teaching practice to test its teaching effectiveness,with a view to providing front-line teachers with new ideas for self-made teaching aids.The first part is an introduction.Based on the research background and theoretical and practical significance of the subject,through the analysis of the research status of self-made teaching aids teaching and geospatial thinking training at home and abroad,the problems in the teaching of self-made teaching aids in geography in China are found,and the research objectives,contents and methods of this paper are determined.The second part is a conceptual and theoretical discussion.Based on relevant literature,the concept of geographical self-made teaching aids and geographical spatial thinking is defined.Based on Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory,students’ individual differences are emphasized.Dewey’s "learning by doing" theory advocates the direct acquisition of student activity experience.Dell’s "Tower of Experience" theory emphasizes educational and teaching theories such as "experience by doing",and further research is conducted on the teaching of geographical self-made teaching aids,Emphasis is placed on analyzing the implementation steps and evaluation criteria for using self-made teaching aids to cultivate students’ geospatial thinking.The third part is a survey of the current situation of self-made teaching aids.Use a questionnaire to understand the current situation of geography self-made teaching aids,as well as the importance that teachers attach to the cultivation of spatial thinking in self-made teaching aids,and explore teachers’ recognition of self-made teaching aids and implementation difficulties.Analyze the limitations of teachers,students,and the teaching environment in the teaching of self-made teaching aids,and formulate corresponding strategies.The fourth part is the summary and example design of the teaching content of self-made teaching aids in Selective Compulsory One.After carefully reading the course objectives and content of the textbook,consulting and drawing on examples of self-made teaching aids designed by different scholars to improve and innovate,we have designed self-made teaching aids for "the motion of the Earth","time turntable",and "barometric zone model",and written production steps and application guides.The fifth part is the design and implementation of teaching cases.According to the teaching objectives,the teacher designed a "contour elevation measuring device" teaching aid,guided students to create a "simple terrain model" at home and conduct measurements,and guided students to complete the production of a "self-drawn contour terrain map" teaching aid.After the implementation of the classroom,the scores of two experimental classes and two control classes were tested and analyzed,which proved that using self-made geographical teaching aids for teaching is conducive to cultivating students’ spatial thinking ability,providing a case reference for the application of self-made teaching aids.
