On 1 March 2021,the "Primary and Secondary School Educational Disciplinary Rules(Trial)" came into force,which means that educational discipline is now legally enforceable.But the fact remains that the practice of educational discipline is still in some difficulty.In this situation,how to implement discipline legally,reasonably and effectively has become a major challenge for schools and teachers to overcome.Based on this,this study focuses on investigating the current situation of educational discipline practice at primary school,and introduces field theory to interpret it,which enriches the theoretical perspective on educational discipline research and has certain significance for the correct implementation of educational discipline,and also provides certain reference ideas and strategies for the practice of educational discipline in primary school.This study uses questionnaires and interviews to examine the current state of practice of educational discipline in primary school.Firstly,a questionnaire survey of38 primary school teachers and 439 primary school students,combined with interviews,was conducted to understand the current state of practice of educational discipline in primary school.The following results were obtained after collation and analysis: 1.Teachers’ perceptions and behaviour of discipline are biased;2.The way of educational discipline was fixed;3.Teachers’ exercise of the right to educational discipline is restricted;4.Relevant regulations of the school are mere formality.Secondly,the three key concepts of field,habitus and capital in field theory are used to explain the causes of the above situations,including the influence of adverse educational field factors,habitual submersion of teachers and students and the imbalance of capital and power between teachers and students.Lastly,suggestions for improvement are made from the perspective of the government and society,school,teachers,parents and students: the government and society improve relevant laws and create a good atmosphere,schools promote the institutional construction of educational discipline,teachers improve their comprehensive quality of educational discipline,parents assist in the rational implementation of educational discipline,students participate actively to realize the democratization of educational discipline.
