| With the development of the basic education curriculum reform, people are paying more attention to the cultivation of students’ quality. As far as mathematics is concerned,it pays more attention to the improvement of students’ mathematical literacy.Mathematical abstraction is at the top of the core literacy of mathematics, and it is one of the literacy that junior high school students need to develop urgently. The most direct way to cultivate the mathematical abstract ability of junior high school students is to carry out creative teaching activities. In addition, the history of mathematics has long been coexisting with the development of mathematics, which has rich educational value.Studies have shown that integrating the history of mathematics into mathematics teaching is an available path to promote the development of students’ ability. Therefore, based on the mathematical abstract ability level framework, this paper mainly focuses on the two horizontal dimensions of quantitative relationship and spatial graph, three longitudinal levels of induction and interpretation, correlation and construction, expansion and universality, aiming to study the influence of History and Pedagogy of Mathematics(HPM)lessons on junior high school students’ mathematical abstract ability.Based on HPM,this paper aims to explore the effect of its implementation on the mathematical abstraction level and the attitude towards mathematical history of junior high school students. In the implementation stage, quantitative research and qualitative analysis are combined, and the research contents are analyzed in detail by means of literature analysis, questionnaire survey, experimental research and interview method.By analyzing the pre-test papers,we can understand the current level of mathematical abstraction ability of seventh-grade students;by analyzing the pre-test and post-test results, this paper studies the influence of HPM lessons on junior high school students’ mathematical abstraction ability;by analyzing the results of questionnaire survey and student interview, this paper investigates the influence of the implementation of HPM lesson on students’ attitude towards learning the history of mathematics. The results show that the implementation of HPM lesson can promote the development of junior high school students’ mathematical abstract ability, and it can be used as an effective way to cultivate students’ abstract ability. The specific manifestations are:(1)The level of abstract ability of seventh-grade students is in a middle level;(2)The implementation of HPM lesson has had a positive impact on students’ mathematical abstraction ability, which has been improved to some extent in the dimensions of quantitative relations and spatial graphics;(3)Most students like the teaching method of integrating the history of mathematics into the classroom, and give a positive attitude towards HPM lessons. In the teaching process, they can also realize the various educational values of integrating the history of mathematics into the classroom.Indeed,it has a positive effect on their own development. |
