As an important potential predictor of teachers’ work enthusiasm, teaching effectiveness and student development, teacher job satisfaction has become a key issue in the field of education in recent years. There are abundant researches on the composition, influencing factors and improvement strategies of teacher job satisfaction, but there is a tendency to focus on external reward and incentive policies and light internal self-generating strategies. Therefore, the focus is on teachers themselves. It’s important to take control of your own job satisfaction. At the same time, with the deepening of the research on distributed leadership in the school field, teacher leadership as an important branch of distributed leadership has been paid more and more attention by scholars.Teacher leadership,as a kind of influence of teachers’ own initiative to influence others, enables the subject teachers with teacher leadership to take the initiative in the activities of other participants in school education and teaching, which has a certain degree of compatibility with the internal generation mechanism of teachers’ job satisfaction. This point of view has been confirmed by some qualitative interview studies. Therefore, this paper carries out quantitative research on the basis of the existing research,in order to enrich and expand the existing research on both.Based on the existing research on teacher leadership, teacher job satisfaction and the relationship between them as important theoretical basis, this study divides teacher leadership into three main dimensions: school decision-making leadership, leadership for colleagues and leadership for students.Among them, leadership for colleagues and leadership for students include two sub-dimensions respectively, namely, five sub-dimensions.They are school decision-making leadership, colleague professional development leadership, colleague teaching leadership, own teaching leadership and own education leadership. In this study, teacher job satisfaction mainly includes five aspects: self-fulfilling satisfaction, teacher treatment, interpersonal relationship, student development and school management. This paper mainly adopts questionnaire survey and interview survey.Taking D City,H Province as the research object,it selects 6 primary and middle schools in D city,H Province as the sample schools, and obtains 386 valid questionnaires. It investigates and analyzes the teachers’ leadership and job satisfaction,so as to understand the development status of the two variables and the influence of the former on the latter. This study mainly draws the following conclusions:1.Teachers’ leadership in the surveyed area is generally at an above average level.Among them, the leadership of teachers’ participation in school decision-making is far lower than the median score of 3,followed by the leadership level of colleagues, and the highest total score is the leadership of teachers for the students they teach.2.The teachers’ job satisfaction in the surveyed areas is above the average level, and the mean value of each sub-dimension of teacher job satisfaction is ranked as teacher interpersonal satisfaction >Self-fulfilling satisfaction >Salary satisfaction >Student development satisfaction >School management satisfaction, that is,teachers in the survey area are most satisfied with interpersonal relationship in work, but most dissatisfied with school management.3.There are significant differences in the job satisfaction of teachers in the surveyed regions in terms of gender, teaching age, teaching period, professional title and educational background. The leadership of teachers in the surveyed regions also has significant differences in gender, teaching age, teaching period, professional title and educational background.4.The three overall dimensions of teacher leadership in the surveyed areas showed significant positive correlation with the five overall dimensions of teacher job satisfaction, and there was also significant positive correlation between each sub-dimension of the two variables.Among them, teacher job satisfaction was most affected by teachers’ teaching empowerment of students and least affected by school decision-making leadership. In this study, the suggestions for the future development of school teachers’ leadership to improve teachers’ job satisfaction are as follows: in the stage of normal education, add teacher leadership courses to cultivate pre-service teachers’ leadership awareness; To stimulate the decision-making leadership of teachers’ schools and improve their job satisfaction;Enhance teachers’ leadership to teach students and improve teachers’ job satisfaction;Improve the leadership of colleagues and build a culture of mutual help and cooperation.
