As a starting stage in the process of students’ lifelong learning and development, the compulsory education stage will provide a solid foundation for students’ future development. At the same time,a student development-oriented classroom learning environment needs to focus on promoting students’ all-round development, which objectively requires giving full play to the role of the classroom as the main teaching ground, overcome the limitations of a utilitarian educational philosophy and focus on the all-round development of students. As a discipline that studies the interrelationship between educational issues and the surrounding environment, educational ecology uses ecological thinking and methods to interpret educational issues.Examining the classroom learning environment of students in compulsory education from the perspective of educational ecology is not only conducive to providing new theoretical support and research ideas for optimizing the classroom learning environment, but also conducive to creating a good classroom learning environment and building a good learning ecology for students in compulsory education,so as to ultimately realize students’ all-round development. This study explains the educational ecosystem theory, educational ecological balance theory and the basic principles of educational ecology, laying the theoretical foundation for the subsequent research and demonstrating the logical fit between educational ecology and classroom learning environment from the theoretical and research methodological levels.Based on the perspective of the components of an educational ecosystem, the study uses questionnaires to explore the current situation of the classroom learning environment for students in compulsory education, analyzes the existing ecological imbalance and its causes, and proposes strategies for optimization, with the aim of creating a good classroom learning environment for students.Specifically, this study covers several aspects.Firstly, the implications of classroom learning environments for students in compulsory education in the context of educational ecology are interpreted from a theoretical perspective. The study analyses the intrinsic connection and logical fit between educational ecology and classroom learning environment, and concludes that there is theoretical and methodological appropriateness between them. The study also analyses the connotations and components of the classroom learning environment based on this perspective. In short, the classroom learning environment in the context of educational ecology is an ecosystem of learning environments that includes mainly biotic and abiotic elements, with biotic elements referring to students, teachers and teaching assistants, and abiotic elements referring to learning objectives, learning spaces, learning resources and learning styles.Secondly, the study explores the classroom learning environment of students in compulsory education from the perspective of educational ecology. The study focuses on the components of the classroom learning environment, and analyses five aspects as following: the goal of classroom learning should be from knowledge orientation to comprehensive development;the subject of classroom learning should be from passive acceptance to autonomous learning;the space of classroom learning should be from selfseparation to collaborative opening;the resources of classroom learning should be changed from single content to rich and diversified;the way of classroom learning should be changed from disembodied learning to embodied learning.Thirdly, from the practical level this study explores the reality of the current classroom learning environment at the compulsory education level. The results show that:in the current classroom ecological learning environment, learning objectives are knowledge-based only, neglecting the all-round development of the body and mind;students are full of enthusiasm for learning, but independent learning is ineffective;the "flowerpot effect" is significant, and the boundaries of the learning space are closed;learning resources within the school are abundant, but the quality of learning resources is not high;classroom learning has a mind but not a body, and the marginal effect of the body is obvious. At both the theoretical and practical levels,a comprehensive and systematic consideration of the ecological imbalance in the current classroom learning environment of students in compulsory education has been carried out to analyze its intrinsic roots. The reasons for this are as f0 llowing aspects.Firstly, the dominance of instrumental rationality and the deviation of teachers’ ecological status;secondly, the blurred ecological status of students and their lack of independent learning ability;thirdly, the lack of the concept of "ecological chain" in the design of learning spaces;fourthly, the weak awareness of resource optimization and the lack of resource supply capacity;and fifthly, the solidified concept of teachers’ detached teaching and the obvious dichotomy between mind and body. Finally, the study proposes corresponding optimization strategies to address the ecological imbalance that exists in the current classroom learning environment in the following five aspects.First, break away from intellectualism and practice the educational concept of all-round education. In teaching activities,we should return to value rationality, establish the orientation of all-round development, and reconstruct classroom practice to carry out the teaching behavior of all-round education.Second, strengthen teachers’ professional guidance and cultivate students’ ability of independent learning.Teachers understand the individual differences of students and guide students to carry out independent learning. At the same time, students should establish the consciousness of independent learning and develop the habit of independent learning.Third, change the consciousness of space utilization and create an open space for collaborative education. It is not only necessary to establish a constructive spatial consciousness and build a diverse learning space, but also to release the potential of multiple subjects and create an open space for collaborative education.Fourth, improve the capacity of resource construction and build a high-quality learning resource platform. On campus,we should strengthen the construction of learning resources, improve the quality of students’ learning resources, and integrate high-quality off-campus resources to meet the diverse needs of students.Fifth, take care of students’ physical and mental experience to realize the return of reality based on body.In the process of classroom teaching, teachers should increase the body perception, integrate the learning content with rich experience, but also pay attention to the embodied teaching method, create real situations, and enhance the emotional experience of students.Overall, this study explores the strategies for optimizing the classroom learning environment of students in compulsory education from the perspective of educational ecology, and theoretically explores the connotation, components and ideal state of the classroom learning environment. It also examines the main problems of the classroom learning environment under the guidance of the "holistic-connected" research perspective and the "dynamic-developmental" value orientation of the educational ecology analysis method, with a view to building a good classroom ecology and providing practical suggestions for the optimization of the classroom learning environment. The study is expected to build a good classroom ecology and to provide targeted recommendations for the optimization of the classroom learning environment.
