With the rapid development of society and economy,the comprehensive improvement of teacher quality and ability relates to the core of the development of our education enterprise.However,at present,teachers generally face difficulties such as high work intensity and low salaries,and occupational burnout is relatively serious.Therefore,it is important to seek effective ways to alleviate teacher occupational burnout.Junior middle school mathematics teachers not only have to face the students in adolescence,but also have to bear the heavy burden of teaching tasks,college pressure,more likely to produce burnout phenomenon,to work and life has brought great trouble.The social competency theory points out that individuals’ perceptions of their competence have a significant impact on burnout.According to this theory,teachers with high competence are better able to handle work and teaching problems,and are more likely to gain recognition and success.The achievements and satisfaction obtained from this will offset job burnout.It can be seen that there is an internal connection between teachers’ competence and job burnout.Therefore,this paper takes Zhengzhou junior middle school mathematics teachers as the research object and studies the influence of teacher competence on job burnout by issuing questionnaires.Firstly,the existing research results on teacher competence and job burnout are summarized to provide theoretical support for the following research implementation.Secondly,through theoretical analysis,the research hypothesis is put forward,and the measuring tools of teacher competence and job burnout are illustrated.Thirdly,the survey data are analyzed,including the demographic difference analysis of junior middle school math teachers’ competence and job burnout,the correlation and regression analysis of junior middle school math teachers’ competence and job burnout.Finally,combined with the analysis results,this paper puts forward ways to improve the competence of junior middle school mathematics teachers and relieve job burnout.Through investigation and analysis,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)The overall competency level of junior middle school mathematics teachers in Zhengzhou is relatively high,but there is also job burnout.(2)Demographic variables such as age,teaching age,professional title,marital status and teacher status have different effects on the competency and job burnout of junior middle school mathematics teachers in Zhengzhou.(3)The competency level of junior middle school mathematics teachers in Zhengzhou has a negative impact on job burnout.Specifically,the vocational preference dimension of teachers’ competence has a significant negative effect on affective exhaustion.Personal traits,attention to students,professional quality,interpersonal communication,relationship building,career preference and understanding of others have significant negative effects on personal achievement;Attention to students,professional quality and relationship building have significant negative effects on dehumanization.Finally,based on the conclusion of the research,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the competence of junior middle school mathematics teachers and alleviate job burnout. |
