As a major country in postgraduate education,how to maintain the orderly expansion of postgraduate education while continuously consolidating the quality engineering of postgraduate training has become an important issue in postgraduate education.As an important part of postgraduate education,academic master’s education has long focused on cultivating research-oriented talents engaged in scientific research,and has achieved remarkable results.However,with the continuous expansion of postgraduate enrollment,the demand for high-level academic research talents in China will mainly focus on the doctoral level,and not all postgraduate students are suitable for scientific research work.Strengthening the cultivation of postgraduate students’ practical ability has become an inevitable choice for postgraduate education.The conference on postgraduate education held in July 2020 in China also released this important signal,that is,the training goal of postgraduate students will shift from research-oriented talents to high-level applied talents,and research-oriented academic talents will mainly focus on doctoral education.In short,it is particularly necessary to discuss the cultivation of practical ability of academic postgraduates in depth.In this context,this study focuses on the research object of postgraduates of pedagogy,taking 26 postgraduates of pedagogy of X University as the research object,comprehensively using the literature research method,text analysis method and interview method,on the basis of clarifying the connotation and structural dimension of the practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy,starting from the cognitive attitude of postgraduates of pedagogy to practical ability,their behavior in practical activities and the realistic representation of the lack of practical ability,this paper discusses the realistic state of the practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy,and then makes a multi-dimensional perspective on the reasons for the lack of practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy.In order to provide a useful reference for the optimization of the cultivation of practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy.Through in-depth interviews to establish a dialogue relationship with postgraduates of pedagogy,pay attention to the active learning and self-experience of postgraduates of pedagogy.First,it deeply explores the cognitive attitude of postgraduates of pedagogy to practical ability,and finds that postgraduates of pedagogy have a positive cognition of practical ability,and the most mentioned is the integration of practical ability with research,employment,and social life.Second,it pays attention to the description and explanatory understanding of the explicit behaviors displayed by postgraduates of pedagogy in scientific research practice,teaching practice and social practice,which can glimpse the different emphasis of postgraduates of pedagogy on the selection of various practical activities,and the different effects of practical ability improvement,and can also understand the effectiveness and inadequacy of scientific research practice,teaching practice,social practice and other training links on the practical ability training of postgraduates of pedagogy.Third,combined with the participation of postgraduates of pedagogy in practical activities and their self-evaluation of their personal practical ability,this paper presents the realistic representation of the lack of practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy,and finds that there are different problems in three aspects:scientific research practice ability,teaching practice ability and social practice ability.Accordingly,based on the problem-oriented and focus,this paper analyzes the reasons for the lack of practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy.It can be seen that the course teaching fails to give full play to the function of integrating academic research and teaching skills.The guidance behavior and practical support of the supervisor restrict the development direction of the practical ability of postgraduates of pedagogy.The unbalanced practical training opportunities lead to the unsatisfactory practical training effect of postgraduates of pedagogy.The practical motivation,self-regulation ability and action ability of postgraduates of pedagogy need to be further enhanced.In view of this,this study is based on the curriculum,takes the supervisor as the main point,takes the practical training as the traction,and promotes the reform of the graduate students,and puts forward the optimization countermeasures for the cultivation of the practical ability of the postgraduates of pedagogy,including highlighting the functional conception of curriculum integration research and imparting skills,the supervisor’s guidance and practical consciousness,promoting the spatial balance of practical activities,and the graduate students’ embedded endogenous motivation and self-adjustment ability.
