Abstract/Summary:
Examination is a common way of evaluation, which is essential in the educational process. In the middle school stage of these examinations, the college entrance examination is the most representative, and as the main way for colleges and universities to select talents, its content to a large extent determines the reserve of talents have the knowledge level and ability. Therefore, the college entrance examination needs continuous reform and improvement. Our country began a new round of comprehensive reform of college entrance examination in 2014,canceling the divisions of arts and science, and implementing the new "3+3" mode and "3+1+2" mode of college entrance examination, and the new "3+1+2" mode of college entrance examination is more suitable for most provinces and cities in our country. The new gaokao model allows students to choose subjects more freely, which reflects the internationalization of the national college entrance examination.British A-Level examination is widely recognized internationally. Therefore, this paper selects the 2021-2022 physics examination papers of Chongqing under the "3+1+2" mode of the new college entrance examination and the British A-Level physics examination papers as the research objects, and adopts the literature research method, mathematical statistics method, comparative research method and content analysis method. This paper makes a qualitative comparison of the examination system, examination paper structure and examination contents of the college entrance examination between China and the UK,and makes a quantitative comparison of the difficulty of the college entrance examination between China and the UK by constructing a comprehensive difficulty model of the examination questions, and then analyzes the similarities and differences of the physics questions in the college entrance examination between China and the UK and some teaching inspirations for front-line teachers in middle schools, and draws the following conclusions:In terms of the examination system, the college entrance examination is regulated by the national and local educational administration departments, and under the new "3+1+2" mode of the college entrance examination, physics and history must be chosen as one of the selected subjects, with the original score of physics included in the college entrance examination score. In the UK,the A-level examination is conducted by several examination authorities in the UK.Students can choose any three subjects to take the examination, but the results are counted in A "ranking system".In terms of the paper structure, our country college entrance examination physics has only one paper, small amount of questions, the ratio of the number of multiple choice questions and scores are large, which is not very beneficial to examine the students’ true level.A-level examination consists of five papers which examine different contents. The questions are large and diversified, which is conducive to A more comprehensive examination of students’ abilities in all aspects. In addition,Chongqing physics test focuses on students’ thinking results and calculation ability, while A-Level physics test pays more attention to the process of students’ knowledge and ability, and also has requirements on language narrative ability, information conversion ability and image understanding ability. In terms of the content of the questions, the situation sources of the questions are very rich, and all of them focus on the content of dynamics and electromagnetism as well as the students’ application ability. But the Chongqing physics paper contained very little examination of heat, optics and atomic physics, compared with the more comprehensive content of the A-Level.A-Level questions also require the ability to select, describe and evaluate scientific procedures. In terms of the difficulty of exam questions, the comprehensive difficulty model of physics is used to compare and analyze the physics questions of the college entrance examination in China and the UK.It is found that there is little difference in the difficulty of the two factors of "cognitive level" and "physical situation",but A-Level exam questions contain fewer knowledge points, fewer reasoning steps, and relatively simple calculation and modeling. On the whole, the A-Level physics papers were not very difficult.Based on the above research, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the physical examination questions in the college entrance examination of the two countries, there are several enlightenments for the current basic physics teaching:(1)To broaden the breadth of knowledge, but also to keep the emphasis on the connection between knowledge points;(2)Pay attention to the teaching of basic knowledge and change the teaching method of "emphasizing the result and neglecting the process";(3)To cultivate students’ comprehensive ability,we should also keep the emphasis on basic arithmetic, reasoning and modeling.
