Research On The Emotional Tendency And Evolution Of Weibo Users In The Event Of Public Opinion Reversal

With the rapid popularization and development of network information technology in China,the scale of netizens has increased explosively,and the Internet space has gradually evolved into a place for netizens to express their opinions and attitudes.In this context,emerging online media platforms represented by "Weibo" are gradually emerging.Compared with traditional media,these emerging online media platforms are more "civilian",and they are faster and more convenient to publish,forward or comment information,which greatly improves the enthusiasm of the public to participate in the network.The public comment on network events,and their opinions and attitudes continue to collide and merge,thus forming online public opinion.On the one hand,online public opinion can bring certain positive social effects,but on the other hand,online public opinion,especially the reversal of public opinion,may further stimulate contradictions and induce some new social problems.Public opinion reversal events refer to those events in which the direction of public opinion and the emotions of netizens are reversed in the process of evolution.Nowadays,the frequency of public opinion reversal events has increased significantly compared with the past,which has damaged the ecological balance of online public opinion to a certain extent.At the same time,compared with ordinary public opinion events,the supervision of public opinion reversal events is more difficult,which poses a test for relevant government departments.At present,domestic scholars’ research on "public opinion reversal events" mainly focuses on phenomenon analysis,cause analysis,and predictive analysis,while there are relatively few studies on the emotional tendencies and evolution of social media users.Therefore,research in this field has enriched the research on the emotional analysis of social media users in theory;In practice,it has strengthened the perception and grasp of relevant departments on the emotional evolution of social media users in such special public opinion events,and provided application reference for the improvement of public opinion supervision mechanism and the governance and guidance of major public opinion crises.First of all,this paper sorts out the existing literature,combines relevant concepts and theories in the field of public opinion,and attempts to accurately grasp the characteristics of public opinion reversal events.Then,this paper takes "the incident of corporal punishment of students by teachers in Fangyuan Primary School in Guangzhou" as an example,uses the sentiment dictionary method and the Word2 vec topic recognition method to analyze the emotional tendencies of Weibo users in the incident,explores the emotional evolution process of Weibo users in this public opinion reversal event,and study the characteristics of the four stages of the event evolution.On this basis,it summarizes the emotional evolution law of Weibo users in the public opinion reversal event.Finally,this paper tries to put forward feasible suggestions from the perspectives of the government,the media and the public,in order to provide a reference for the response and governance of public opinion reversal events.
