Oral communication affects the survival and development of individuals.The level of oral communication skills directly affects the future social development of students.The General High School Language Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised 2020)clearly and specifically require students to: be able to use spoken language appropriately to express and communicate according to different contexts and objects;be able to use facial expressions and gestures to express themselves appropriately according to different communicative situations and purposes,and build communicative confidence.The unified version of the high school language textbook is specially designed for the oral communication module,and the main line of its teaching is the unit learning task,which is manifested in six forms:discussion and exchange,thematic seminar,debate,review,interview,and performance speech.It can be seen that oral communication teaching has a very close relationship with the development of core language literacy,the development of learning task clusters,and the achievement of curriculum goals.At present,in teaching practice,oral communication teaching is not given due attention in some schools’ high school language classroom teaching,and there are problems such as greater teaching arbitrariness and lack of theoretical guidance.In terms of teaching research,since the beginning of the new curriculum reform,most of the research on oral communication teaching is about teachers’ personal teaching practice,focusing on the description,summary and reflection of the teaching process,lacking universality and objectivity;the research on oral communication teaching strategies is mostly limited to the solution of specific problems in the microcosm of reality,lacking the study of general macro theory.This paper uses questionnaire survey and interview method to investigate and analyze the teaching of oral communication in high school of Hohhot Y Middle School,and summarizes the current problems of oral communication teaching in the school: some teachers and students do not know enough about the importance of oral communication;some students have communicative psychological barriers and language expression barriers;some teachers have a narrow range of oral communication topic selection,rigid and conservative teaching methods,and imperfect teaching evaluation system.Some teachers have a narrow range of oral communication topics,rigid and conservative teaching methods,and imperfect teaching evaluation system.Through a comprehensive analysis of the problems,the reasons for the current situation of oral communication teaching were pointed out: teachers’ innate lack of oral communication ability,teachers’ lack of in-depth study of oral communication teaching,teachers’ authoritative position in the existing evaluation system;students’ own personality and psychological barriers,students’ barriers to the rules of oral communication,and students’ inappropriate methods of learning oral communication.In order to solve the common problems in the current oral communication in high school language and improve the current oral communication teaching in high school language,the author applies the principle of discourse to the practice of oral communication teaching in high school language and tries to establish a new teaching strategy system based on the principle of discourse.The specific teaching strategies include: based on the principle of purpose,clear communicative objects;based on the principle of association,clear communicative barriers;based on the principle of cooperation,selective communicative topic methods;based on the principle of politeness,consolidate the communicative effect of.The overall goal is to make teachers and scholars know what they know and why they know it,so as to improve students’ oral communication ability and teachers’ teaching ability.
