Abstract/Summary:
The ninth grade is the final year of Compulsory Education Stage,the students of ninth grade are confronted with the choice of further education or employment,the pressure of study,competition from peers,expectations of parents and interpersonal relationship can cause them anxiety.This research,based on the requirements of“encouraging students to have positive emotional experience and expressions,and doing effective emotional management” prescribed by Ministry of Education in Guidelines for Mental Health Education in Primary and Secondary School issued in2012 after revision,is conducted in combination with practical needs of students in grade nine in Nanchang F school.This research is composed by the following parts:(1)Introduction and Literature Review.Using documentary method to sort conceptions about anxiety and about mental health education courses and domestic and foreign research progress.(2)Present situation Investigation of Anxiety.Do research on anxiety for the students of the two whole class in grade nine in F school of Nanchang,giving out the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders,accumulating the pre-tested data,and dividing the two classes randomly into the Experimental class and the Comparison class based on the no difference on dimensions and total scores of the pre-testing data.(3)Course Design.Under the guidance of positive psychology,and in connection with the five dimensions of somatization,Generalized Anxiety Disorder,separation anxiety,social phobia and school phobia,design mental health education courses of 8 study hours.(4)Implementation of Course.Implement Psychological Health Education Course in Grade Nine,Class Two(Experimental Class)in F school,Nanchang.(5)Course Evaluation.The evaluation is divided into the quantitative evaluation and the qualitative evaluation.The quantitative evaluation is to do investigation of anxiety condition in the two whole classes in Grade nine in F school again in Nanchang,to accumulate the post-data for comparison.Quantitative evaluation is to write an interview outline,and do interviews and surveys for classmates in experimental class.Based on the course design,course implementation and course evaluation progress in the aim of relieving anxiety in Mental Health Education of Grade 9,in combination with the pre-test and post-test data of the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders,it is concluded that: First,the Mental Health Education course in the aim of relieving anxiety is beneficial to relive students’ anxiety.According to the dimensions of Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders,the dimensions and total scores of pre-test data and post-data of experimental class in somatization,generalized Anxiety disorder,and separation anxiety differ obviously.The post-test Data of experimental class and comparison class differ obviously in separation anxiety and social phobia and total scores.Second,to design mental health education course under the guidance of positive psychology is feasible.Third,the opening of mental health education course is necessary.Fourth,the form of mental health education is diverse.
