Conic curve is a difficult point in the study of analytic geometry for high school students. It involves geometry and algebra, including form representation, form representation conversion number representation and further representation of logarithm. As a big difficulty in high school mathematics,it is clearly pointed out in the Curriculum Standard of Ordinary High School Mathematics(2017 edition)that students need to master the level of conic curve.Throughout the annual college entrance examination, there is still a large gap between the actual cognitive level and the target level of students in this aspect. In order to further understand the students’ learning status of conic curve and find out the existing problems,it is necessary to test and investigate their relevant cognitive level. This study takes SOLO theory as the theoretical basis, and uses the five levels of pre-structure level,single-point structure level, multipoint structure level, associative structure level and abstract expansion level. Then, according to the conic curve teaching objectives and the four learning stages of understanding, understanding, mastering and applying the conic curve required in the Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High School Mathematics(2017 Edition),the conic curve learning objectives are divided into five cognitive dimensions.Based on the cognitive dimension framework, the conic curve question types are classified according to the framework. Thus, the conical curve cognitive level test volume is prepared. The questionnaire was designed based on self-efficacy,attribution,mathematical view, learning view and conic curve learning habit to determine which factors were correlated with conic curve cognition level.According to the question compiling framework, the test paper was compiled. The test objects were selected from nine classes of Grade two in a high school in Ji ’an City. After discussion with the teachers of the grade, the students were selected for self-study on Thursday evening for the test. After receiving the test paper and questionnaire, the test paper is scored and analyzed, and the cognitive level of each student is judged to determine the cognitive level. All the data were coded and sorted into tables.SPSS software was used for overall analysis, different dimension analysis, different level analysis, difference analysis and correlation analysis,so as to provide better data support for the later teaching opinions.According to the survey results:(1)In general, the number of students at the conic curve multi-point structure level is the largest, accounting for 33.9% of the total number, followed by the correlation structure level(32.7%),single point structure level(28.9%),and very few students at the pre-structure level.(2)The students’ cognition level of ellipse is the highest, and most students have reached the level of association structure; For the hyperbola, the largest number of people are at the multipoint structure level, followed by the single-point structure level.Parabolic students grasp the worst, most of them only reach the level of single point structure;Among these three knowledge modules, parabola has the largest number of people at the pre-structure level.(3)Gender difference of students does not affect the cognitive level of conic curve. However, the difference between arts, science and class level will have a great impact on students’ cognition of conic curve.(4)Factors related to conic curve cognition level include: students’ effort degree and students’ willingness to prove knowledge degree.
