Discursive expression is a basic literacy that citizens in modern society should possess.In the General High School Language Curriculum Standards(revised in 2017 and 2020),the subject core quality of "development and enhancement of thinking" and the learning task group of "critical reading and expression" are clearly proposed.Discursive thinking " and " discursive expression " have been raised to an unprecedented level,and the college entrance examination is also paying more and more attention to the examination of students’ discursive ability.Discursive expression in high school language plays a crucial role in developing students’ critical thinking and language expression skills.However,due to the influence of exam-oriented education,the combination of written discursive expression teaching and oral discursive expression teaching in front-line teaching is not high.In view of this,we take the discursive expression in high school language as the research object,combine " speaking " and " writing ",and highlight the language teaching concept of " speaking and writing as one ".The research on the strategy of " speaking and writing " in the teaching of discursive expression in high school language mainly involves three research questions,namely," What is the current situation of teaching discursive expression in high school language "," What are the reasons behind the current situation of teaching discursive expression? What are the reasons behind the current situation of teaching discursive expressions? " " How to design a practical teaching strategy of ’speaking and writing’ in response to the current situation and the reasons? The article is divided into seven chapters that address these three core issues.The first three chapters provide an overview of discursive expression,explain the theoretical basis,analyze the necessity and feasibility of "speaking and writing" in teaching discursive expression,and provide the theoretical basis for the following exploration of "speaking and writing".The theoretical basis is provided for the following exploration of the effective way of "speaking and writing".Chapter 4 adopts the survey method to understand the current situation of teaching discursive expression in high school language,and to provide a realistic basis for exploring the effective way of "speaking and writing together" in the following chapter.The problems of the current teaching situation are summarized and attributed to both teachers and students: the current low level of students’ discursive expression may be partly due to the influence of traditional ways of thinking and a weak sense of transfer;the ineffectiveness of teachers’ discursive expression teaching is probably due to the broken chain of teaching speaking and writing and the solidified role of traditional teachers.In addition,there is an obvious tendency of test-taking and utilitarianism in language education.Chapter 5 is the focus of the article,which explores the effective path of "speaking and writing together" based on theoretical and practical grounds,and designs a complete teaching chain of "speaking and writing together" for teaching discursive expressions in high school language.The chain includes psychological construction strategies,"debate for writing","writing for speaking",and teaching evaluation strategies.Chapter 6 is a case study on "independent thinking/referencing is more helpful for learning",which integrates some of the teaching strategies in Chapter 5 into a specific teaching,in order to provide some reference for front-line teachers’ teaching of critical expression.Chapter 7 concludes the study with conclusions,shortcomings and prospects.
