The three-year epidemic has brought significant changes to people’s lifestyles,making people deeply realize the importance of health,especially the health status of the teaching staff who are responsible for education and cultivating students.Physical fitness can promote physical health.Therefore,It has become a research hotspot to effectively improve the health level of teachers through participating in physical fitness.This paper investigates and studies the current situation of physical fitness of junior high school teachers in Luolong district of Luoyang by using the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey,interview,mathematical statistics,logical analysis and other research methods,and puts forward corresponding suggestions.The research results indicate that more than half of middle school teachers in Luolong district believe that they are in a sub health or disease state,and the type of disease is related to occupational characteristics;the teachers in this area do not have a deep understanding of sports and fitness,but most of them enjoy sports and fitness,and generally agree that sports and fitness play an important role in people’ health.The main purpose of participating in sports and fitness is to strengthen the body and alleviate work pressure;teachers do not have a deep understanding of scientific sports and fitness knowledge.Most of them choose to participate in physical fitness at night,mainly focusing on walking,running,and skipping rope.The main venues are schools,fitness trails,and parks;nearly half of middle school teachers choose to engage in physical fitness alone and have varying degrees of emphasis on physical fitness,In addition,the consumption level of physical fitness among middle school teachers in the area is not high,and the consumption content is concentrated in purchasing sports equipment;the main factors that affect the physical fitness of teachers in this area include self factors,family factors,school factors,and social factors.The main self factors are insufficient emphasis on sports and fitness,insufficient understanding of sports and fitness policies,and limited mastery of sports skills;family factors include taking on more household chores,less family organized sports and fitness,and low family sports consumption;the main school factors include insufficient promotion of sports and fitness knowledge and policies,insufficient attention and support for teachers’ sports and fitness,and a lack of sports and fitness activities specifically for teachers;at the social level,there is insufficient guidance on social sports fitness and sports venues.Based on the above research results,the following suggestions are proposed: teachers should enhance their awareness of the importance of participating in physical fitness and maintaining a healthy level,and establish the concept of "health first";teachers should learn sports and fitness knowledge,and drive students and their families to actively participate in sports and fitness activities in schools and social organizations;schools should prioritize the health of teachers,further reduce their workload,and make full use of various resources to provide convenience for teachers’ physical fitness;at the social level,more attention should be paid to the health level of middle school teachers,and social forces should be utilized to increase the investment of sports facilities in schools,surrounding residential areas,parks,and other places,providing a material foundation and convenient conditions for teachers’ fitness.
