| The preschool period is an important stage in the development of metaphor,and the ability to understand metaphor is an important factor that affects the development of children’s personalization,socialization,and cognition.Death metaphor is related to children’s cognition of death,related to the art of life education,and is the center of understanding the concept of death and metaphorical ability.This study used an experimental method to test the current situation and influencing factors of children aged 3-6 years in their understanding of death metaphors,and then put forward educational suggestions.First,young children were tested using death metaphors in both text and picture modes to understand the differences in understanding death metaphors among children of different ages,as well as various influencing factors.Secondly,based on the experimental scores and text analysis,a total of 45 children were selected as experimental subjects to analyze their ability to understand death metaphors and their influencing factors,and based on this,relevant educational suggestions were proposed.The results found that:(1)children aged 3-6 years have significant differences in their understanding of death metaphors in terms of age;(2)There is no significant difference in gender;(3)In terms of modal understanding,the level of understanding of text mode is higher than that of image mode;(4)Of all ages,children aged 5-6 have the highest level of understanding of death metaphors,while children aged 3-4 have the lowest level of understanding of death metaphors.(5)Generally speaking,young children’s understanding of death metaphors is mainly based on textual modes,and they are good at inferring metaphorical meanings in combination with contextual life experiences.children’s understanding of death metaphors is not only limited by life experience and age,but also related to language expression and vocabulary mastery.Based on this,this study proposes feasible suggestions and strategies for promoting children’s understanding of death metaphors: First,parents should create a warm and harmonious family environment for children and attach importance to the cultivation of metaphorical abilities.Secondly,teachers should pay attention to the domain infiltration of death metaphors;Finally,in order to help young children improve their metaphorical competence in death,better accept death and handle the related emotions generated by death,and also to improve their metaphorical understanding,specific coping methods for young children to respond to death metaphors are proposed. |
