As the government and society pay more attention to rural women and women’s autonomy increases, promoting women’s participation in community development has become a topic of concern in recent years, and rural women’s self-organizations have gradually become an important vehicle for promoting women’s participation in community public affairs.Although women’s self-organizations have gradually started to play their roles in recent years under the promotion of government and external forces, the endogenous power of community self-organizations is still relatively weak.Social work is one of the important participatory forces in community governance. In recent years, community social work has been highly valued by the government, which has increased the purchase of services from the community and organically combined the development of social work services with community governance and has achieved certain achievements. This study aims to analyze how social work can scientifically participate in the construction of self-organizational capacity enhancement of rural women, and provide experiences for social work to better participate in community construction.During the author’s internship in social work agency P,she was directly involved in the process of capacity enhancement of women’s self-organization in her community through community building, and this study takes the women’s self-organization in village S,the women’s voluntary service team,as an example. The study uses semi-structured interviews and participant observation to study the practical process of social work helping to improve the self-organizational capacity of women in village S.The study also proposes strategies and suggestions for social work to help improve the self-organizational capacity of rural women. The results of the study show that the application of community social work and group work methods of social work has improved the capacity of women’s self-organization as follows: at the level of organizational members, their knowledge, service capacity, and self-participation capacity have been improved to a certain extent;at the level of organizational structure, the self-organization mechanism has been reconstructed and the training system has been reconstructed;at the level of organizational resources, the integration and utilization capacity of members’ resources have been improved. The evaluation of social work-assisted women’s self-organization capacity enhancement through multivariate evaluation reveals that although social work-assisted rural women’s self-organization capacity enhancement has obvious effects, there are also some shortcomings: first, insufficient social work resources, second, weak integration of community resources, and third,a single way for self-organization members to participate. In response to the above problems, feasible suggestions can be made at four levels: government, society, social workers, and women’s self-organization itself,so as to better improve the capacity of women’s self-organization in village S and achieve stable and sustainable development of women’s self-organization.
