| Research purpose: Through a survey of the current situation of the emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, and sports performance of adolescent athletes in Jiangsu Provincial Youth Amateur Sports School,to understand the overall characteristics of emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, and sports performance of adolescent athletes, further analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, and sports performance, explore the patterns, and provide reasonable suggestions for improving the sports performance of adolescent athletes and optimizing the selection of adolescent athletes to promote the development of youth sports in China.Subjects and methods: 200 adolescent athletes from the middle school department of Jiangsu Provincial Youth Amateur Sports School were selected for questionnaire survey using random sampling method. The questionnaire was distributed during normal class time, and collected onsite. If there were any unclear points on the questionnaire, unified guidance and answers were given on the spot without guiding the respondents. Each adolescent athlete had to complete three parts of the questionnaire, including the "Adversity Quotient Scale," "Interpersonal Relationship Scale for Middle School Students," and a personal general information survey. The completeness of the information was checked when collecting the questionnaire.A total of 200 questionnaires were distributed,195 were collected, and 190 valid questionnaires were obtained with an effective rate of 97.4%.SPSS 20.0 was used for statistical analysis in this study.First, descriptive statistics and difference analysis were used to describe the basic situation of adolescent athletes and understand their basic characteristics. Then, correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, and sports performance of adolescent athletes, followed by multiple regression analysis based on the results of the correlation analysis.Research results:(1)There were significant differences in the adversity quotient of adolescent athletes in terms of being an only child(p<0.05),sports level(F=2.971,p=0.033<0.05),and whether they were class leaders(p<0.05).(2)The control dimension and responsibility dimension of emotional intelligence of adolescent athletes were significantly positively correlated with sports performance, with R=0.403 and R=0.422,respectively.The two dimensions were linearly positively correlated with sports performance, with an R-squared value of 0.237.The sports performance equation was Sports Performance =-2.626 + Control *0.061 + Responsibility and Accountability * 0.075.(3)There were significant differences in the interpersonal relationships of adolescent athletes in different grades(p<0.05),sports level(p<0.05),sports projects(p<0.05),and whether they were class leaders(p<0.05).(4)The four dimensions of interpersonal relationships of adolescent athletes, namely peer relationships,teacher-student relationships,parent-child relationships, and self-relationships,were significantly positively correlated with sports performance, with correlation coefficients of 0.293,0.308,0.148,and 0.339,respectively.The regression equation was Sports Performance = 0.403 + 0.040 * Peer Relationships + 0.029 * TeacherStudent Relationships + 0.060 * Self-Relationships.Conclusion:(1)The emotional intelligence of adolescent athletes has a predictive effect on sports performance.Adolescent athletes with higher control and responsibility have better sports performance.(2)Interpersonal relationships of adolescent athletes have a predictive effect on sports performance.Adolescent athletes with higher scores in peer relationships,teacher-student relationships, and self-relationships have better sports performance. |
