The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that "education,science and technology,and talent are the basic and strategic support for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country." It shows that the party and the state have a more accurate grasp of the relationship between education,science and technology,talents and high-quality development,and further promoting the integration of science and education will become the direction of future education research.The 2022 edition of the Compulsory Education Curriculum Plan clearly states that comprehensive practical activities such as themed and project-based learning should be actively carried out to promote students’ inferences and integration,enhance students’ understanding of the intrinsic relationship of theoretical knowledge,and promote the structural construction of knowledge.Project-based learning advocates taking real problems as the carrier,based on real situations,allowing students to carry out inquiry learning in cooperative practice,so as to effectively solve problems,which is of far-reaching significance for cultivating students’ inquiry practice and innovation ability.The 2022 edition of the Science Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education reclassifies 13 core concepts,highlights the learning of core concepts of engineering design and materialization,and emphasizes that students can solve problems in real practical situations based on students’ existing cognitive level and original experience.Based on the background of the current science education reform,this study attempts to organically integrate project-based learning with the core concepts of primary school science engineering design and materialization,so as to seek a new teaching design idea,provide reference for front-line teachers,promote the improvement of students’ scientific thinking ability and inquiry practical ability,and promote students’ all-round development.In view of this,this study will be based on the core concepts of engineering design and materialization,take project-based learning of primary school science as the research content,and elaborate the concept,operation process and implementation principles of project-based learning through literature research method and questionnaire survey method,analyze and summarize the practice status of projectbased learning in the field of primary science technology and engineering,and the basic literacy level of students’ project-based learning.Attitude and professionalism towards project-based learning;Through the extraction of the core concepts of engineering design and materialization in curriculum standards and primary school science textbooks,the project-based learning design and implementation of the core concepts of engineering design and materialization of primary school science are completed.Studies have shown that project-based learning in primary schools can effectively cultivate students’ scientific thinking ability and hands-on practical ability.Teachers integrate project-based learning into primary school science teaching more frequently,and the core concepts of engineering design and materialization are increasingly prominent in the content of primary school science teaching,so as to explore the convergence of project-based learning and engineering design and physical and chemical core concepts.However,in the study,it is also found that project-based learning is less taught under the core concepts of science engineering design and materialization in primary schools,and students’ inquiry and practice ability is relatively weak.In summary,this study starts from the core concepts of engineering design and materialization,points to the cultivation of students’ core scientific literacy,and puts forward the design implementation concept,basis and principles of project-based learning.It is an attempt to construct a project-based learning framework under the core concepts of engineering design and materialization,hoping to provide teaching experience for front-line teachers and improve the effectiveness of science teaching reform.
