Conic curves are an important part of analytic geometry in high school,and are also a compulsory part of the entrance examination.Because of the complexity and abstraction of the knowledge itself,the comprehensive approach to conic curves is conducive to improving students’ mathematical thinking and problem solving ability.The content of the mathematics examination reflects the direction of education reform and the requirements of talent training,and has a guiding role in teaching.This article takes the conic curve test in the GCE as the object of study and explores the solution methods of conic curve problems in depth.This study consists of the following four parts: Part I contains chapters 1 and 2,which explain the background of the study,the content and significance of the study,the status of research on conic curves at home and abroad by using literature analysis and the content analysis method to interpret the curriculum standards and textbook content.The second part is Chapter 3,which contains the theory of knowledge of conic curves and the theory of education and teaching.The theory of knowledge part will present the knowledge framework of conic curves and the theory of education and teaching will provide the theoretical support for this study.The third part is Chapter 4,which investigates students’ knowledge of conic curves by means of a questionnaire test,summarises and analyses the more common errors made by students in solving conic curves problems and the reasons for them,and provides some directions for the subsequent research on conic curve solving methods.The fourth part is divided into the fifth and sixth chapters,which study the types of conic curves in the college entrance examination,summarize the corresponding solution methods and explore several types of higher order solutions to conic curve problems from the perspective of affine transformations and polar extremum theory.Finally,we conclude this study with a summary and outlook.By summarizing the solutions of various conic curves problems in the HKALE,and by investigating the application of the affine transform and the pole-pole theory to conic curves,teachers can avoid neglecting the essential content of mathematical knowledge in the teaching process by pursuing too many problem solving techniques;students can think more and break the boundaries of thinking,so that they can know what they know and know why they know it.
