The 19thNational Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the"Implementation of the Healthy China Strategy",and the State Council formulated the"Healthy China Action(2019-2030)",aiming to improve the health literacy of the whole people and promote a healthy life for them.Cultivating students’health literacy is a clear requirement of the"Core Literacy for Chinese Student Development",and high school biology textbooks contain a large amount of materials suitable for cultivating high school students’health literacy.Fully excavate the material,create situations,carry out extracurricular activities,extend teaching from classroom to extracurricular,and develop students’health literacy.Focusing on high school students,adapting the health literacy testing questionnaire based on the characteristics of students’health development,and addressing the mismatch between the national health literacy testing tool and high school students;Developing health education through extracurricular activities to address the current single approach of relying mainly on classroom infiltration of health education,enriching the forms of school health education,and developing students’health literacy are the issues to be addressed in this study.This study summarizes the research progress on health literacy cultivation both domestically and internationally through literature research,clarifies the connotation of health literacy,and conducts a survey on the current status of health literacy among teachers and students in practical schools and their understanding of health literacy through questionnaire surveys and interviews.Based on literature review and questionnaire survey results,with the development of students’health literacy as the starting point,explore health materials,construct unit modules,select activity topics,create scenarios,design activity cases,and carry out practice.Evaluate the practical effect of activities through health literacy testing papers,three ability record forms,activity evaluation forms,and grades,and organize and analyze the practical effect of cultivating students’health literacy through extracurricular activities as a carrier.Focus on clarifying the positive impact of"healthy life"extracurricular activities on health literacy cultivation,and reveal the feasibility of using extracurricular activities in biology to assist senior high school biology teaching and develop health literacy.To provide reference for the study of students’health literacy in biology teaching.The results of the study are as follows:1.The implementation of"Healthy Life"extracurricular activities has improved the level of students’health literacy and promoted teachers’awareness of cultivating students’health literacy.The level of students’health literacy has increased from 17.94%before practice to 38.76%(P.It reveals that extracurricular activities are feasible and effective in cultivating students’health literacy.2.The practice of extracurricular activities in biology has increased students’interest in learning and felt the charm of biology.The level of students’learning interest has increased from 28.7 points before practice to 39.27 points(P<0.05),and the proportion of class interest has changed from high to medium to low(1:7:2)to the level of overall interest in the class.Explaining that extracurricular activities can promote students’interest in subject learning.3.Developing extracurricular activities in biology can develop students’comprehensive abilities.The comprehensive ability level of students has increased from 15.98 points to 26.1 points,and their teamwork ability,information collection and expression ability,and activity operation ability have all been developed to varying degrees.This indicates that students’comprehensive abilities can be effectively developed during extracurricular activities.4.Expand and design extracurricular activities based on the content of biology textbooks to help students master knowledge points.After sorting out,it is clear that the five textbooks of high school biology in the People’s Education Edition contain 44 sections of health education,accounting for 53.65%of the total number of sections.They contain 34,19,12,and 12 points of health knowledge and concepts,healthy lifestyles and behaviors,basic health skills,and adolescent health,respectively,providing rich materials for"healthy life"extracurricular activities.The students’mastery of health knowledge points related to their two final grades was 78.75%and 86.15%,respectively.At the same time,students developed a correct attitude and a good attitude towards academic performance.In summary,this study has proven that extracurricular activities such as’healthy living’are a feasible and excellent way to enhance health literacy,while also helping to enhance learning interest,develop students’comprehensive abilities,and improve academic performance.Cultivate students’health literacy and promote the construction of"Healthy China".
