With the development and application of AI technology,AI education has gradually become a focus of attention for countries around the world and relevant international organisations.The "Notice of the State Council on the Issuance of the Development Plan for a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence" clearly proposes the implementation of an intelligent education project for all and the setting up of AI-related courses at primary and secondary school levels.The "Compulsory Education Information Technology Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition)" issued by the Ministry of Education includes AI as one of the logical main lines of the curriculum.Conducting research on AI curriculum teaching models can form effective teaching mechanisms around the essential features of the AI curriculum and transform AI curriculum teaching,thereby improving the development of students’ AI awareness,knowledge and abilities.Through a survey of the existing domestic and international literature,it is found that the teaching objectives of the existing AI curriculum teaching models mainly include creative thinking,problem solving ability or computational thinking and other thinking skills on,and the target tendency shows inconsistency.The teaching model of AI courses in our country is based on a combination of lecture and problem-driven or project-based teaching,with the former exploring how to enhance students’ classroom engagement under a teacher-centred premise,and the latter pointing more towards students’ information processing skills,problemsolving skills and collaborative communication skills.As a result,existing research lacks a correlation analysis of the essential features and curriculum objectives of AI courses.This study proposes to use intelligence literacy as a key concept to guide the research on the teaching and learning model of the AI curriculum.Guided by cognitive structure theory,constructivist learning theory and experiential learning theory,this study analyses the framework elements of intelligent literacy and the cultivation requirements based on which the application effect of the constructed teaching model of intelligent literacy-oriented middle school AI curriculum to promote students’ intelligent literacy development is investigated.This study integrates the literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and quasi-experimental research method to carry out research on the construction and practical application of an intelligent literacy-oriented teaching model:By analysing the existing literature on the connotation framework and cultivation of intelligent literacy,referring to the existing research results,and according to the cognitive development characteristics of students in junior high school,the study identifies the competency framework of intelligent literacy for junior high school students,dividing intelligent literacy into four dimensions: intelligent awareness,intelligent knowledge,intelligent ability,intelligent emotion and ethics.Based on the framework elements of intelligent literacy,an intelligent literacy assessment scale for junior high school students was designed and the Delphi method was used to verify the scientificity and normativity of the measurement tool;with the cultivation of intelligent literacy as the guide,and under the guidance of the theory identified in the study,the analysis of the elements of the construction of the teaching model of the artificial intelligence curriculum was used as the basic,and specific teacher and student activities were designed from the components of the teaching model to build a teaching model that includes thinking about life situations,perception of artificial intelligence,investigation of artificial intelligence and evaluation of artificial intelligence The four teaching stages of the junior high school AI curriculum teaching model.The study was conducted with Year 7 students in a secondary school in Z,Guangdong Province,as the subjects of the experiment.The application of the intelligent literacy assessment scale,AI knowledge test questions,student work evaluation forms and student interviews were used to verify the effectiveness of the intelligent literacy-oriented teaching model of the junior high school AI curriculum.The analysis of the experimental results showed that the intelligent literacy-oriented teaching model of the junior high school AI curriculum constructed in this study could effectively improve students’ intelligent literacy,in which the two dimensions of intelligent ability and intelligent sentiment and ethics were significantly improved,and the overall academic level of students was enhanced.
