| The Physics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)proposes clear requirements for cultivating students’ scientific thinking,among which scientific reasoning is an important component.Cultivating scientific reasoning ability is one of the important tasks to implement the core literacy of the discipline.T Therefore,it is a subject with theoretical and practical significance to explore the effective way to cultivate scientific reasoning ability.The Scientific Discovery as Dual Search originated from an exploration of scientific discovery learning,with the core process being the search by learners of the hypothesis space and experimental space they construct themselves.Through this search process,learners develop scientific thinking and improve their scientific reasoning abilities.Based on Scientific Discovery as Dual Search’s dual spaces(hypothesis space and experimental space)and three processes(searching hypothesis space,testing hypotheses,and evaluating evidence),combined with the fundamental elements of cultivating scientific reasoning abilities,we have constructed a teaching model for cultivating scientific reasoning abilities in junior high school students based on the Scientific Discovery as Dual Search.This model consists of seven stages: "clarifying problem space,constructing experimental space,constructing hypothesis space,searching experimental space,searching hypothesis space,evaluating evidence,and summarizing and evaluating," which are integrated throughout the "pre-class,in-class,and postclass" stages for students.Upon analyzing the chapter content of the People’s Education Press 8th grade physics textbook,it was found that there is a significant amount of content related to cultivating students’ scientific reasoning abilities in chapters two,three,and four.Based on the teaching arrangements of our practicum school,we selected chapter fragments from these three chapters for teaching design and carried out teaching practices based on the Scientific Discovery as Dual Search.The practice shows that teaching based on the Scientific Discovery as Dual Search is consistent with the current concept of cultivating scientific reasoning abilities in junior high school students,and can promote the development of students’ scientific reasoning abilities.Among these abilities,the promoting effect on students’ three dimensions of scientific reasoning abilities: "control variable reasoning," "correlative reasoning," and "hypothesis deduction reasoning" is more significant,but the promoting effect on students’ three dimensions of scientific reasoning abilities: "conservation reasoning," "proportional reasoning," and "probability reasoning" has limitations.At the same time,it was found that teaching based on the Scientific Discovery as Dual Search is suitable for experimental and active classrooms.Therefore,when designing teaching,we need to integrate various methods to enrich the teaching. |
