Research On Social Work Intervention And Community Residents' Participation In Urban Community Environmental Governanc

With the rapid development of China’s market economy and rapid social changes,the problem of environmental pollution has gradually become more and more prominent,and people’s lives have been affected to some extent.Urban development has entered a new stage of fine governance.How to better improve the level of urban community environmental governance and who is in charge of governance plays a key role.As the basic unit of urban environmental governance,community environment is closely related to residents’ daily life,which determines the high importance of mobilizing community residents to participate in community environmental governance.This paper conducts research on the kitchen waste project practice of M community in Dongguan City,and collects research data by combining interview method and participatory observation method.It is found that under the current situation of highly administrative community construction,few service autonomous organizations,lack of environmental governance hardware facilities and lack of perfect supervision and management system,community residents participate in community environmental governance in a single form,low participation and weak awareness.To promote community environmental governance,it is urgent to change the current situation.Based on the above situation of community residents’ participation in community environmental governance,this study,starting from the theory of regional development mode and in the form of intervening in the kitchen waste project practice of M community in Dongguan City,sorts out the basic situation of M community,and selects15 people from M community residents,community workers and social workers for interviews.Observe and interview to understand the changes of community residents in the process of project implementation,the role changes of community workers and the role of social workers in the process of project.It can be seen from the analysis of the field visit and interview results in M community that although the community residents are concerned about the community environment,there are still problems in the actual process of community environmental governance such as weak awareness of participation,single form of participation and low degree of participation of residents.The reason lies in the restriction of the construction of community administration system,less involvement of service-oriented social organizations,and insufficient sense of community residents’ participation.Through the practice of social workers’ involvement in community residents’ participation in community environmental governance,this paper responds to the needs of community residents,solves community environmental problems,improves the autonomous governance ability of community residents,promotes communication among community residents,unites the relationship between neighborhood residents,enhances community residents’ sense of community belonging and sense of identity,and promotes community residents’ participation in the implementation of the project.At the same time,the experience of social work’s involvement in urban community environmental governance was summarized through the project experience,and suggestions were put forward to strengthen the construction of democratic consultation platform,consolidate and coordinate the friendly relationship between multiple subjects,enhance professional ability to give play to professional advantages,and improve and standardize the internal supervision and management mechanism.
