Mathematics Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)advocates the methods of mathematics teaching and learning,such as structural integration of contents,hands-on practice,independent exploration and cooperative communication,and requires teachers to change the single-class teaching based on knowledge points in the past,start with the integrity and structure of knowledge,establish the consciousness of unit integration,change teaching methods and models,and guide students to touch the "core" of mathematics knowledge.The student-oriented 5E inquiry teaching model emphasizes the formation and development of mathematical problem-solving ability by promoting students’ understanding of concepts and knowledge construction through group cooperative learning.The purpose of this study is to conduct an action research on the theme of unit learning from the perspective of unit integration teaching,using the 5E inquiry teaching model consisting of five teaching links: "Engagement-Exploration-Explanation-Elaboration-Evaluation",with a view to improving primary school students’ mathematical problem-solving ability through hands-on practice,independent exploration and cooperative communication.The study takes Class 1,Grade 3,A Primary School in Zhangzhou as the research object,and takes the contents of the unit textbook Rectangle and Square published by People’s Education Press as a case.On the basis of comparing and analyzing the contents of several versions of the textbook and referring to the existing literature,the content of the unit is integrated into the seed module of "quadrilateral characteristics and properties",the growth module of "perimeter exploration" and the fruit module of "problem solving",and thus three rounds of action research are launched.5E inquiry teaching model is applied to the design and implementation of teaching process of various topics,and each round of action research is carried out in accordance with the four steps of "teacher’s teaching plan-teacher’s teaching implementation overview-student’s problem-solving ability performance-feedback and reflection".It is found that the 5E inquiry teaching model can promote students’ problem discovery and improve problem representation by integrating diversified situations from the perspective of unit integration teaching.Strengthen the awareness of problems and improve the application of migration;Open activities are carried out to cultivate multi-dimensional mathematical problem-solving ability of strategy selection.
