Advertising Design" is a professional skill course for the art design and production major of secondary vocational schools.The teaching objective of this course requires students to be able to make creative advertising design works eventually.It not only requires students to master the basic theory of computer graphics and image processing technology,but also requires students to have certain ability of advertising design and planning.Design planning is a very important link in advertising design activities,which plays a guiding and decisive role in advertising design.From practical experience,a successful advertising design case cannot be achieved without careful planning.Similarly,in the teaching of "Advertising Design" in secondary vocational schools,teachers should take into account the cultivation of students’ ability of advertising design planning and creativity while cultivating their operational skills.Therefore,teachers should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ ability of advertising design planning and creativity to a certain extent.In order to change the students advertising design planning creative ability weak problem.Through investigation,it is found that the teaching problems of Advertising Design in secondary vocational schools are as follows:(1)Students’ ability of design investigation needs to be improved,(2)students’ ability of design positioning needs to be strengthened,and(3)students’ ability of design creativity needs to be improved.According to the survey data,the above phenomenon exists in the teaching of "Advertising Design" in secondary vocational schools,so it is particularly important to improve teaching methods to enhance students’ design and planning ability.Therefore,researchers try to apply design-based learning teaching methods to the teaching of "Advertising design" in secondary vocational schools in order to improve it.Learning by design is a new teaching method emerging abroad.It originates from the research of Kolodner group,and then created by Professor Dorin Nelson of California Polytechnic State University and applied to k-12 education.Design-based learning takes design ability,iteration and reflection as its core characteristics.It runs design thinking through the whole process,completes design activities in an iterative cycle,and constantly reviews its design experience.The necessity of applying design-based learning teaching method in the course of Advertising Design in secondary vocational schools is based on the advantages and characteristics of design-based learning to solve the teaching problems found by investigation.Therefore,in order to solve the existing problems in the teaching of "Advertising Design" in secondary vocational schools,this paper applies the construction of design-based learning strategy to the teaching of "Advertising Design".This paper adopts the method of literature research,interview,questionnaire and classroom observation to carry out research.Firstly,the concept of design-based learning and the research status at home and abroad are sorted out by the literature research method,and the theoretical basis of guiding significance for this paper is extracted.Secondly,through the actual research,the teaching problems of "advertising Design" course in secondary vocational schools are analyzed.By observing the classroom performance of teachers and students of Advertising Design course in secondary vocational schools,interviewing teachers after class and conducting questionnaire survey on students to understand the basic learning situation of students.By analyzing the interview and questionnaire results,problems existing in the teaching of design and planning stage are further summarized: The ability of students’ design research link needs to be improved,the ability of students’ design positioning link needs to be strengthened,and the ability of students’ design creativity link needs to be improved.Thirdly,on the basis of current investigation,the researcher analyzes the necessity of applying design-based learning to the course of Advertising Design in secondary vocational schools by corresponding the characteristics of design-based learning to teaching problems.Fourthly,on the basis of predecessors,the application strategy suitable for "Advertising design" course in secondary vocational schools is constructed,and then the design learning is applied to the teaching of "Advertising Design" course in secondary vocational schools.Fifthly,through the analysis of the application cases and teaching effects of design-based learning in the teaching of Advertising Design in secondary vocational schools,it is found that design-based learning is effective in solving the existing problems of secondary vocational students.Finally,the paper summarizes and looks forward to the shortcomings of the application of design-based learning in the course research of Advertising Design in secondary vocational schools.
