Learning motivation refers to the learning state shown by students in the learning process and the learning behavior that they desire to achieve academic achievement.This behavior runs through the whole process of learning and affects students’ academic emotions.The level of learning motivation directly affects the student’s learning drive,which is of great significance to the growth and development of students.Career planning is an important factor affecting students’ learning motivation.High school is an important period to carry out students’ career planning.Students’ planned career planning can enhance their learning motivation and achieve higher academic achievements.Through investigating the current situation of high school students’ learning motivation,this study designed group counseling activities for career planning to indirectly intervene students’ learning motivation level.In this study,students with low scores in learning motivation were selected as research objects,and special courses on career planning were designed with group psychological counseling for career planning as intervention means,aiming to improve students’ learning motivation through group counseling for career planning for high school students.The main research contents include: Study 1,select 360 high school students in Grade one and grade two in Yan ’an City,use the Diagnostic Scale of learning motivation to investigate the current situation of high school students’ learning motivation,and analyze the current situation and characteristics of high school students’ learning motivation;In the second study,based on the content of the mental health curriculum system of high school students and the characteristics of group development stage,Schlub’s career development stage theory and Swain’s "career planning" model,the professional career group counseling program was designed for high school students.In study 3,30 students with low scores in learning motivation were selected as members of the experimental group to carry out 10 times of group psychological counseling courses,and the implementation effect of this career planning group counseling was compared before and after,as well as the evaluation effect of students on the curriculum system to verify that career planning education plays a certain role in improving learning motivation.Therefore,put forward some education and teaching suggestions to improve the motivation of high school students.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The overall level of learning motivation of a senior high school student in Yan’an City is low,lower than the theoretical median.The results show that: the minimum value of learning motivation is 82,the maximum is 216,and the overall average score is156.34,which is lower than the theoretical median value 172,indicating that the investigated students’ learning motivation is at a low level,and the scores of high school students in avoidance of failure motivation,requirement level,skill scene and sports scene are lower.(2)Different groups of high school students have different learning motivation.The results show that there are gender differences in the learning motivation of high school students,and there are significant differences in the learning motivation of skill scenes,and the score of girls is higher than that of boys;There are significant differences in learning motivation on the playground,and boys score higher than girls.There are significant differences in the learning motivation of high school students from different places.In terms of total success motivation,knowledge learning scene,sports scene,exam anxiety,promotion tension and total score of learning motivation,the scores of students from urban areas are lower than those from rural areas.There are significant differences between student cadres and non-student cadres in skill scene,social life scene,total score of learning motivation,total success motivation,knowledge learning scene,sports scene,exam anxiety,promoting tension and avoiding failure motivation,and student cadres are significantly higher than non-student cadres.There was no difference in motivation across grades.(3)Career planning group counseling has an intervention effect on improving the learning motivation of senior high school students.The results showed that after the intervention of group counseling activities for career planning,the scores of learning motivation in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in total success motivation,total test anxiety,promotion tension,total score of learning motivation,skill scene and social life field.This study takes career planning group counseling as the starting point,designs the group psychological counseling intervention program,and obtains good intervention effect,which provides a new method to improve students’ learning motivation;The results of the investigation and intervention study have a certain reference value to carry out mental health education in schools at all levels.We should pay more attention to students’ psychological problems,improve teaching methods,enrich teaching contents,enhance students’ mental health level,and promote students’ all-round development.
