In the information age,the high-scoring talents trained by exam-oriented education can no longer meet the requirements.At present,critical thinking is one of the core literacy that is commonly pursued in the information age.In the newly released curriculum standard of basic education stage in 2022,it is proposed that the goal of information technology curriculum should be carried out around core literacy,so as to achieve the connection with the cultivation of core literacy in senior high school.The new curriculum standard clearly points out that students should form information awareness,be able to identify the authenticity of data,and judge the value of evaluation information,which puts forward requirements for students’ critical thinking.The information technology class is different from other subjects.Students have more time to operate independently and solve problems,which is more conducive to cultivating students’ critical thinking.5E teaching model is a model based on the theory of constructivism,which divides classroom teaching into five stages: participation,exploration,interpretation,transfer and evaluation.The five stages are closely linked.This model emphasizes the students’ dominant position in the classroom and attaches importance to their participation in the classroom,which is more consistent with the teaching method of information technology class.Therefore,on the basis of 5E teaching mode,combining the general process elements of critical thinking to design a teaching mode and apply it to information technology courses can better promote the development of students’ critical thinking.This study first describes the background and significance of the study,and then combs and summarizes the research status of critical thinking and 5E teaching mode through searching and reading relevant literature,so as to further determine the content,methods,problems,etc.of this study.At the same time,the meaning of each link of 5E teaching mode is clarified,and the concepts of critical thinking and critical thinking process are defined.Thirdly,through the analysis of the design basis of the teaching model,the interpretation of each link of the 5E teaching model,and the analysis of the critical thinking process elements,the principles of designing the teaching model based on the 5E teaching model are determined,and the design of the 5E-C teaching model focusing on cultivating critical thinking is completed in combination with the current situation of the information technology classroom teaching in junior high school and the students’ critical thinking level.Fourth,during the three-month internship in the internship school,the author selected part of the teaching content of python course in the information technology course of the second grade of junior high school,guided by the new curriculum standard in the compulsory education stage,designed the teaching content in terms of teaching objectives,teaching process,teaching evaluation,teaching resources,etc.according to the 5E-C teaching mode,and then carried out teaching practice by using the experimental method.In the teaching process,data such as students’ pre-test and post-test scores of critical thinking skills,students’ pre-test and post-test scores of critical thinking tendencies,students’ test scores,and students’ satisfaction surveys were collected by questionnaire.Through data processing and analysis,it is verified that the 5E-C teaching mode is more conducive to cultivating students’ critical thinking skills and tendencies,and is also more conducive to improving students’ performance and classroom teaching effect.The main achievements of this study are as follows: a 5E-C teaching model focusing on cultivating critical thinking is designed;Apply the 5E-C teaching model to the practical teaching of information technology classroom in junior high school and verify its effectiveness;The conclusion is drawn that the 5E-C teaching mode is conducive to improving students’ critical thinking and students’ performance.
