| Academic grit is the concrete embodiment of grit in the academic field.It is an important positive quality that enables learners to maintain lasting enthusiasm for long-term goals over a long period of time and make unremitting efforts even in the face of failure.In this study,550 junior high school students from two junior high schools in Heilongjiang Province and Inner Mongolia were surveyed by using "Learning Climate Scale","Growth Mindset Pattern Scale","Academic Persistence Scale" and "Children’s Hope Scale" to explore the relationship between teacher autonomy support and academic persistence of junior high school students,as well as the mechanism of growth mindset and hope in the relationship.The results showed as follows:(1)On the whole,the academic perseverance,teacher independent support,growth mindset and hope of junior high school students are above average.Among them,the academic perseverance level of junior high school students in grade,only child,class cadres and grades in the ranking of significant differences.Specifically,the academic grit level of girls is significantly higher than that of boys,the academic grit level of grade one and grade two is higher than that of grade three,the academic grit level of non-only children is higher than that of only children,the academic grit level of class cadres is significantly higher than that of nonclass cadres,and the academic grit level of students in the upper grades is significantly higher than lower.(2)Significant positive correlation were found between teacher autonomy support,growth mindset,hope and academic persistence of junior high school students.(3)Teacher autonomy support can directly affect the academic persistence of junior high school students.(4)Growth mindset and hope play a chain mediating role in the influence of teachers’ autonomy support on junior high school students’ academic persistence.The results show that improving teachers’ autonomy support behaviors,cultivating students’ growth mindsets and enhancing their sense of hope are conducive to to shaping the academic persistence of junior high school students. |
