The increase in the proportion of “whole book reading” in the new version of Chinese textbooks in senior high schools reflects the latest requirements for Chinese teaching.In recent years,the new changes in the task group of “whole book reading and discussion”,as well as the gradual popularization of electronic reading materials,have posed new challenges to teachers’ teaching.Apply the part of the task-based teaching method that is suitable for the Chinese discipline to the teaching of the whole book reading,in order to provide some suggestions for teachers to make good use of the existing teaching materials,curriculum standards and other resources,more scientifically design the teaching activities of the“whole book reading and discussion” task group,and promote the realization of the teaching objectives of the task group.The thesis can find problems from the current situation of the whole book reading teaching,combine the theoretical points and integrate the tasks that are conducive to students’ reading into the whole book reading teaching,thus it can be proposed the whole book reading teaching process based on the task-based teaching method,as well as reflect and improve in the real whole book reading teaching practice.In addition to the introduction at the beginning and the conclusion at the end,the main body of the paper is divided into three parts.The first part is guided by constructivist learning theory,the theory of "learning by doing",and the theory of "Zhu Zi’s reading method".It provides theoretical basis for the development of task-based teaching methods from three perspectives: teachers’ teaching outlook,students’ learning outlook,and reading methods.Secondly,through teacher interviews,we can understand the current situation of reading teaching throughout the book,analyze its problems,and use it as a basis for using task-based teaching methods.In the second part,according to the four teaching principles of Willis task-based teaching method“contact,use,motivation and guidance”,the conditions for the development of task-based teaching method are first provided from the outside,and then the process of the whole book reading teaching is discussed in stages.Secondly,combined with the gradual reading theory of Zhu Xi’s reading method,taking the novel “A Dream of Red Mansions” and the academic book “A Brief Talk about Beauty” as examples,we should highlight the characteristics of the whole book when applying the task-based teaching method.Finally,based on the teaching steps of the task-based teaching method,the whole book reading teaching process of “setting goals,creating situations,proposing tasks,and evaluating development” is sorted out.The third part designs the teaching plan for the specific “whole book” according to the whole book reading teaching process,presents the teaching design of reading guide,lead,read through and study of the whole book of A Dream of Red Mansions,and details the design and implementation of the task.Finally,by conducting a questionnaire survey on students to collect some evaluation information,we will further reflect on the application of task-based teaching methods in the teaching of whole book reading,thus improving the design level of the teaching of whole book reading.
