| Labor education is an important part of comprehensively implementing the Party’s educational policy and carrying out the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and cultivating people.Chinese textbooks are not only a basic tool for students to master cultural knowledge,but also an important carrier to reflect and transmit the national mainstream ideology.The images of laborers shaped by them play an important role in students’ penetration of labor education.For more than 70 years since the founding of New China,great changes have taken place in Chinese social politics and economy.The transmutation of laborers’ image in textbooks is the epitome of the mainstream value orientation of The Times.Therefore,the image of the laborer is placed in the inseparable social context,and the factors affecting the change of the image of the laborer in textbooks are analyzed.It is of certain reference value to understand the realistic significance of the image of the laborer and the future trend of the image building of the laborer.This paper takes the workers directly engaged in production practice in the six sets of primary school Chinese textbooks published by the People’s Education Society as the research object,uses content analysis method and critical discourse analysis method to systematically sort out the changing process of the laborers’ image,summarizes the shaping and changing characteristics of the laborers’ image in primary school Chinese textbooks,and explores the value orientation behind the changes of the textbook laborers’ image.It is found that the image of laborers in the textbooks of primary school Chinese for People’s education has undergone three stages: the first stage is the period of exploration and standardization of textbooks(1949-1966),which is dominated by the image of workers and peasants who support the Party and the country;The second stage is the period of textbook rectification and promotion(1977-2000),which mainly focuses on the image of progressive laborers following the development of The Times.The third stage is the period of prosperity and unification of textbooks(2001-present),which focuses on the image of ordinary workers who return to the essence of labor.The changing characteristics of laborers’ images in primary school Chinese textbooks mainly include two aspects: one is the external image,from male to female gradually received attention;From "enrich the ancient and thin the present" to "attach equal importance to the ancient and the present";From single politicization to multiple life;Second,in terms of internal image,the labor spirit centering on hard work is in the same line.The image of workers has changed from collectivism to individualism.Workers mostly present themselves in a positive way,strengthen their role models,and always take mainstream ideology and traditional cultural views as the guide.The image building of workers in primary school Chinese textbooks is mainly in the third person,the plot is rich,dramatic and simple,the depiction technique is a combination of positive description and side description.Based on the analysis,the following enlightenment is obtained: in the level of textbook compilation,the image of laborers should give proper consideration to the balance of male and female ratio,the nature of The Times and the history;We should attach importance to the concept of occupational equality in the presentation of occupation;It is necessary to enrich the performance dimension of workers’ moral image and highlight their perfect character.A balance should be struck between the collective and the individual.In the use of textbooks,teachers should improve their own labor quality;Excavate labor education materials in Chinese textbooks;Supplement the diversified teaching resources of worker image. |
