In March 2021,the Ministry of Education issued "Guidance on vigorously promoting the scientific interface between kindergarten and primary school" "Guidance points on kindergarten readiness education" clearly states that kindergarten readiness education is a step-by-step process that should focus on key qualities such as social interaction,self-regulation,awareness of rules and concentration and perseverance of young children.Current research shows that executive function is an important cognitive ability that helps children to effectively monitor and adjust their psychology and behaviour to match the demands of primary school life. However, most kindergartens do not currently incorporate assessment mechanisms for executive functioning into their early education program, and do not fully consider the important role of executive functioning in school readiness education for young children. Therefore,in the policy context of school readiness education and the real needs of the front-line practice,it is of great practical value to improve the executive functions of young children.Recent research has found a strong link between children’s levels of music game and executive function. However, many studies on the level of music game and executive function have mainly examined the correlation between the two,or have examined brain mechanisms from a cognitive neuroscience perspective, and empirical research on the impact of music game on executive function in the middle childhood classroom remains to be explored in depth. While kindergartens generally agree that music education contains rich educational values in the cognitive, emotional and skill components, music games are in fact a more preferred form of music education for young children and can tap into more mental constructive values. How to combine music games with young children’s thinking and cognitive characteristics to promote the development of young children’s executive function has been one of the hot topics of concern in both the practical and theoretical communities. In view of this, this study focuses on the effects of music games on the executive functions of middle school children, and proposes ideas and empirical evidence for the development of executive function in middle school children. In this study, the educational experiment method was mainly used, and 64 children from two middle classes of a kindergarten were selected, and the experimental group and control group were designed for the experiment.First, for two classes of children’s music ability and executive function of the test, through the analysis of the test data,in the children’s music ability and executive function status,on the basis of improving children’s executive function of music games, after the experimental class children for 8 weeks of music games intervention, control class children for regular game activities. Finally, the musical ability and executive function of the experimental class and the control class were tested later.Through the data sorting and analysis, the development of the musical ability and executive function of the children in the experimental class and the control class was compared, and the effectiveness of the activity plan was tested. The results of the study showed that:(1)Music games can significantly improve the total executive function score of middle class children;(2)music games can effectively promote the development of the working memory and cognitive flexibility dimension of middle class children;and(3)music games have no significant impact on the inhibitory control dimension of middle class children.Based on the above results, the following educational suggestions were made:(1)at the level of teachers’ teaching: support children’s executive function development in music games;(2)at the level of home co-education: pay attention to children’s executive function development in home co-education;(3)At the level of educational administrators: measure children’s executive function levels from a normative perspective. |
