With the development of the times and the progress of society, our national demand for high-quality talents is increasing.Under such a background,it is imperative to reform the traditional teaching mode.In 2017,the Common High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards formulated by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China was officially released, which pointed out the direction of reform for the majority of educators, and the corresponding new curriculum reform was also in full swing;the cultivation and development of students’ core competence has become the research focus of many researchers, among which "model cognition" ability is an important part of senior high school students’ chemistry core competence. The author carries out research by means of literature research, questionnaire and investigation, and case study. This paper consists of five chapters, and the main contents are as follows:Chapter 1 – Introduction. It mainly explains the related concepts of "Chemistry Core Competence " and "Model Cognition",explains why this paper studies this subject and the practical significance it will bring, and introduces the main theoretical bases of research in this paper. This paper summarizes the research methods adopted in this paper and the current research situation of "Core Competence" and "Model Cognition" at home and abroad, which can provide reference for other educators.Chapter 2 – It studies the modeling of senior high school chemistry model teaching based on "Model Cognition".Firstly,a questionnaire survey is made on the cognitive level of current senior high school students. After knowing the current mastery degree of "Core Competence" and "Model Cognition" of students and teachers, the teaching design principle based on "Model Cognition" is determined to be used, the module of "Reaction Principle" of senior high school chemistry is analyzed, and the appropriate knowledge points are selected to regulate the design ideas.Chapter 3-Teaching Design and Teaching Practice. It is mainly divided into three parts. One part is the modeling design of the single knowledge point of "factors affecting chemical reaction rate",and the teaching of "model cognition" of the single knowledge point is realized by constructing the "Simplified Effective Collision Model" theory in detail. The other part is the modeling design of the theme of "Electrochemical Reaction Principle",which covers the knowledge points of Galvanic Cell Principle and Its Application,“Electrolytic Cell and Its Application”,and "Metal Corrosion and Its Protection".Based on the traditional "Three Elements" model,we try to design a universal model applicable to the whole chapter, and use this model to solve the practical problems encountered in our study.Chapter 4-Analysis of Teaching Practice Results.Under the premise of controlling variables, the performance of "Model Cognition" in the application of specific teaching practice is analyzed and summarized by analyzing the performance changes of experimental classes and control classes;by comparison,it is found that the "Model Cognition" is a teaching mode that is of great help to the improvement of students’ achievement, and is very beneficial to the improvement of students’ Chemistry Core Competence.Chapter 5-Conclusion and Prospect. It analyzes and summarizes the experimental results of this study.Although the author’s practice has tested the effectiveness of "Model Cognition" in senior high school teaching,it is still necessary to review the disadvantages of this practice, such as the insufficient experimental samples due to lack of time and energy and limited ability, and the single evaluation model. The practice has proved the effectiveness of "Model Cognition" in high school teaching practice. The author’s research is expected to make more researchers pay attention to this subject, and attract more educators to explore and study this field and to pay more attention to the cultivation of students’ core competence while paying attention to their knowledge learning.
