With the promulgation of the new standards for senior secondary mathematics and the development of curriculum reform, improving the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning in senior secondary mathematics is always a real problem facing senior secondary mathematics teachers. To improve the quality of teaching, teachers need to adopt different teaching methods to cater for the differences in students’ interests, mobility and thinking, which is often referred to as personalised teaching. However, personalised teaching is not a matter of "teaching without class",nor is it simply a matter of stratification, but rather a more comprehensive and detailed approach to student learning, based on the learner model. This study is based on the Kunming No.3 Secondary School. There is a wide range of student acceptance of classroom content in this school, and few teachers are implementing personalised teaching. This is related to the lack of concrete and operational methods and strategies for personalised teaching, and the lack of case studies that are applicable to the students’ learning situation in this school. To this end, this study first examines the theoretical foundations of personalised teaching and the learner model, and explores the four dimensions that are most suitable for portraying students’ situations;then, based on the analysis of the four dimensions,he explores the personalised teaching strategies that are suitable for our school’s students’ situations and implements them;finally, based on the analysis of teaching cases and the effectiveness of teaching,he discusses the role of personalised teaching in improving the overall level of mathematics teaching in schools. This paper explores the implementation of personalised teaching strategies such as "board thinking strategy","categorisation strategy" and "multi-dimensional assessment strategy" with the help of the learner model and according to the learning situation of our students. The teaching strategies are based on the students’ circumstances. The effectiveness of these strategies is illustrated through concrete examples, which can be replicated in our school and also provide practical examples for the implementation of personalised teaching in other mathematics subjects.
